Via Twitter, the coalition will deliver news and information on school safety and security.

Silver Spring, Md. — The Partner Alliance for Safer Schools (PASS) is now on Twitter with the handle @PASSK12.

PASS, which was formed by the Security Industry Association (SIA) and the National Systems Contractors Association, is a coalition dedicated to providing resources that will make students, teachers, and staff safer. It includes members of the security industry, school officials, and security personnel as well as law enforcement officers.

“We look forward to using Twitter to get our message out and to connect with potential partners in the effort to enhance school security,” PASS Chairman Brett St. Pierre of HID Global said.

In April 2015, PASS released its “Safety and Security Guidelines for K-12 Schools,” a document that offers physical security recommendations for elementary and high schools. Later in the year, it released a position statement on classroom barricade devices. Both documents are available on the PASS website at http://www.passk12.org.

The group is now developing a set of “toolkits” focused on various aspects of security technology. To keep up with PASS activities, follow the coalition on Twitter at http://www.twitter.com/PASSK12.
