SIA and ESA Present “First Responder and Security Industry Access to Disaster Areas” Webinar

Alexandria, VA – The Security Industry Association (SIA) and the Electronic Security Association (ESA) will present a free webinar on January 31, 2012, “First Responder and Security Industry Access to Disaster Areas.” The webinar will take place from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. CST (3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. EST).

In this roundtable discussion, state and industry experts and webinar participants will discuss efforts underway within the DHS and state emergency management and law enforcement officials to create state-by-state, access control efforts and standard operating policies and procedures impacting the first responder and security community. Up-to-date status of various state-adopted procedures that could impact security industry companies and employees during a disaster or terrorist event will be reviewed.

Speakers will also discuss the challenges of access to emergency zones, the Mississippi and Louisiana SOP’s and other state activities now underway — including a national approach to the issue of “access.” Emergency response planning, access control, resources and training, and technology available to first responders will also be addressed.
