New Security Industry Association (SIA) member SoundSecure – founded by Cameron Javdani, who brings nearly a decade of specialized audio experience – brings audio technologies to security professionals. The company is headquartered in Los Angeles, California, has a satellite office in Las Vegas, Nevada, and has shipped products to 25 states and six countries.

SIA spoke with Javdani, president of SoundSecure, about the company, the security industry and working with SIA.

SIA: Tell us the story of your company.

Cameron Javdani: SoundSecure began with the mission to offer cost-effective audio products with contemporary design to the physical security industry.

SoundSecure launched in the summer of 2019 with the goal of bringing sound to the industry mainstream.

What solutions/services does your business offer in the security industry? And what makes your offerings/company unique?

CJ: SoundSecure offers audio technologies for security systems. By adding sound, customers can gather additional evidence from security events, boost customer relations and improve business operations. Sound also helps monitoring centers avoid false alarm fines by verifying alarms through listening to live audio.

What’s something we might not know about your company – or something new you’re doing in security?

CJ: One of our company goals is to be among the easiest to work with in the industry. For that reason, we have a no-hassle policy for most customer service items, including a one-year return policy and no restocking or drop ship fees. Ever.

Startups inherently have nimbleness and flexibility. We take advantage of those aspects in order to execute customer priorities quickly and make their experience better.

What are the biggest challenges facing your company and/or others in the security industry?

CJ: Audio isn’t a new technology, but it’s new to many people in the security industry. Our opportunity is to show customers both how security is improved by using sound and also the technical elements of audio. Because the industry is familiar with video, we show how the design considerations are different for things like device placement or cabling. The fun part of that conversation is seeing how integrators are able to differentiate their services beyond video-only security and are able to offer something unique to their customers.

What does SIA offer that is most important to you/your company? And what do you most hope to get out of your membership with SIA?

CJ: SIA brings together industry leaders at both a national and local scale. SIA’s work developing a new generation of industry leaders through the RISE program and work expanding workplace opportunity and equality through the Women in Security Forum creates positive trends towards inclusion and diversity. SoundSecure is excited to make our own contributions towards advancing these priorities.

How does your organization engage with SIA? What are your plans for involvement in the next year?

CJ: I am an active member of the SIA Government Relations Committee and sit on the RISE advisory board. Other company members attend SIAThere! events and other SIA events at major trade shows.
