DH: Windy City Wire was founded in 1994 with the intention of providing low-voltage integrators with quality cables that delivered value beyond just the wire, which has been the driving force behind every innovation and solution Windy City Wire has brought to the market for 25 years now. Offering the industry superior products and a complete solution that provides significant labor savings at nearly every stage of the cable management process, while providing exceptional customer service, has truly set Windy City Wire apart in the low-voltage industry.

What solutions/services does your business offer in the security industry? And what makes your offerings/company unique?

DH: We are the exclusive manufacturer and distributer of SmartWire cables and our RackPack field systems solution, allowing installing integrators and contractors to do more with less. Our RackPack cable management solution has been known to reduce installation time by upwards of 40 percent. Additionally, the fact that Windy City Wire is vertically integrated gives us the unique ability to quickly turn around custom cable runs for customers. By controlling our own manufacturing operations, we can promptly address any stocking requests to meet local or regional demands with our 19 stocking locations nationwide. No matter your need, we have the solution for you.

What is something we might not know about your company – or something new you are doing in security?

DH: OSDP seems to be a hot topic these days! Windy City Wire has responded to the market, and we have the cables you need. We are currently stocking the individual OSDP cables in white and purple jackets and also have a yellow OSDP composite cable in stock. Please let us know if there are specific construction of inner elements you require for OSDP composite cables, and we’ll gladly work with you to meet those needs.

What does SIA offer that is most important to you/your company? And what do you most hope to get out of your membership with SIA?

DH: We are looking forward to collaborating with the SIA organization and members through the numerous educational and networking opportunities offered, allowing us to build relationships in the industry to better understand and respond to the needs of security integrators, so that we can continue to create top-quality solutions for the market to maximize efficiencies and safety, while driving down labor costs.
