JD: At the end of the last decade, deep down in South Texas, there was a need for a better surveillance product line, one with better features and quality, competitive prices and, more importantly, local service and support. All the brands sold at the only local distributor of the Rio Grande Valley were coming from the northern states. Installers suffered from a very long return merchandise authorization process, lack of product availability and not having local support, not to mention fast and good service; this is why, in early 2011, TOUGHDOG was born, a brand that will fill in all those blanks, a surveillance product line offering quality products, top-of-the-line features like the 700TV lines in a world of 480, 500TVL, IP66, long-range with smart infrared, wide dynamic range, DVR with HDMI outputs, a complete line of products, with the idea of reliability, durability, availability and the backing of a local brand.

What solutions/services does your business offer in the security industry? And what makes your offerings/company unique?

JD: We specialize in surveillance systems, and we are always innovating to offer a unique line of products and accessories, like our new solar units, the no-configuration wireless bridges, 4G LTE products and many unique accessories or peripherals for a successful installation. In addition, our team of engineers are always available for pre- and post-sale technical support.

What is something we might not know about your company – or something new you are doing in security?

JD: We are looking into the renewable energy to power surveillance products. We will be coming out with new products and accessories that will positively impact our industry.
