Achieving Profitability & Growth in Systems Integration Depends on These Key Factors

Tuesday, March 22, 1:00-2:00 p.m.

Profitable growth is achieved by identifying and implementing strategies within your business that involve a mix of people, time, money and specific goals. Growing profitability requires continued focus on all areas of the business. How do you do this while running your business?

“Integrators need to create a culture of empowerment to grow while maintaining discipline around sales, operations and financial metrics.”

John Nemerofsky, chief operating officer, SAGE Integration

This session highlights key factors systems integrators need to concentrate on and why in order to grow in a shifting business climate. The panel brings a wealth of experience to share insights on topics ranging from sales estimating discipline to engineering capabilities, operational efficiencies, compensation and motivation, the right mix of products and services and how to tie it all together to achieve profitable growth.

Speakers:

  • Tracy Larson, president, WeSuite
  • John Nemerofsky, chief operating officer (COO), SAGE Integration
  • Isac Tabib, COO, ITG Larson, Inc.

New Partnerships Between Sales and Services

Tuesday, March 22, 2:15-3:15 p.m.

Organizations need partnerships with managed service providers that devote time and expertise to understanding the organization’s business needs, while providing a flexible range of services that evolve as the organization’s business develops. A true partner provider will ensure you can access leading innovations.

“As integrators move to managed services models, the divide between the sales and the service departments needs to evaporate. With managed services, the benefit and features the salesperson is presenting is that of the service team managing change for the customer.”

Ken Whelan, COO, Engineered Security Systems

In this panel discussion, industry experts will share best practices and discuss continuous integration to best meet your business challenges and needs now and in the future.

Speakers:

  • Charles Denney, director, managed services, Ollivier Corporation
  • John Maffey, president and CEO, M3T Corporation
  • John Nemerofsky, COO, SAGE Integration
  • Ken Whelan, COO, Engineered Security Systems

Proper Planning for a Security Improvement Project

Tuesday, March 22, 10:00-11:00 a.m.

For many in the industry, learning how to plan a security improvement project and a larger construction project overall is very much a “trial by fire” experience without much traditional curriculum available to prepare the newcomer. This presentation will address this gap by providing an understanding of how large construction projects operate and how the end user should prepare for security improvements in all facets of the project.

This session, presented from the end user perspective, covers the inception of the expansion from upper management, all preparation phases for the project kickoff and the ultimate construction of a planned project.

“Very few security professionals have had experience with a large construction project from its inception through the first day of operation, which enables a limited view of the complexity as well as the underlying purpose of the security improvements. Through experiences with the end user, architects and engineers, security integrators and the system operators, each team member’s goals in the process can be achieved successfully with the right context and understanding of what benefits the end user organization.”

Mark J. Schreiber, principal consultant, Safeguards Consulting, Inc.

The presenter, Mark Schreiber, is an engineering professional who has covered this topic in workshops across the globe, and this presentation will encapsulate the lessons learned project design and interfacing with all professional roles within a construction project. Schreiber’s background with trillion-dollar megaprojects around the globe and experience with Fortune 50 companies enables him to educate professionals with the appropriate perspectives of those that drive the need for security projects.

Speaker:

  • Mark J. Schreiber, principal consultant, Safeguards Consulting, Inc.
