SIA Women in Security Forum Scholarship Spotlight: Tia Eskandari, Allied Universal Technology Services

Tia Eskandari has built a career marked by continuous learning, leadership and a commitment to strengthening the security industry. Through the support of the Security Industry Association (SIA) Women in Security Forum (WISF) Scholarship, she has continued investing in professional growth while helping create opportunities for others. We spoke with Tia about her journey, the impact of the scholarship and advice for the next generation of women in security.

Tell us about yourself and your career journey. 

Tia Eskandari: I am the senior director of national service for Allied Universal Technology Services. I am based in Dallas, Texas, and recently located here from Los Angeles, California.

How did receiving the WISF Scholarship impact your career? 

TE: Taking the leap to apply for the scholarship was the launching pad for my interaction with the SIA Women in Security Forum community. This was the first time that I made an active decision to pour into my personal growth. Completing my Professional Project Management Certification was a goal that became a reality through the scholarship. I am grateful for SIA and the impact this scholarship has made in my professional journey. 

What advice would you give to women building a career in security? 

TE: The best advice I can offer is to embrace networking and actively showcase your personal brand. Building meaningful connections goes beyond having a strong LinkedIn profile—it’s about being remembered for who you are and how you contribute. Engage in thoughtful conversations and authentic interactions, and you will create relationships valuable to your journey in this industry. 

How can the industry better support women? 

TE: Supporting women in the industry starts with creating opportunities for growth, visibility and leadership. Organizations should take an active role by investing in professional development, recognition and pathways to advancement for women.
