SIA spoke with Sergio Morán, innovation technology manager at TI-America, about the company, the security industry and working with SIA.

Tell us the story of your company.

Sergio Morán: TI-America was founded in 2006 with a simple goal: helping organizations use technology to improve the way they operate. Over the years, we have grown from an IT solutions provider into a trusted technology integrator, combining networking, cybersecurity and electronic security to deliver complete solutions that support our customers’ business objectives.

Today, after more than 20 years of experience developing specialized technology projects, we continue to focus on innovation, long-term partnerships and delivering solutions that create real value.

What solutions/services does your business offer in the security industry? And what makes your offerings/company unique?

SM: We design, implement and support integrated technology solutions including video surveillance, access control, networking, cybersecurity, data center infrastructure and managed services. Our goal is to help customers build secure, reliable and scalable environments.

What makes us different is our consultative approach. We don’t start with products—we start by understanding our customers’ challenges and then design solutions that fit their business today while preparing them for tomorrow.

What is something we might not know about your company—or something new you are doing in security?

SM: One area we’re especially excited about is bringing IT and physical security closer together. We’re helping customers take advantage of AI-powered video analytics, open platforms and smarter system integration so they can gain more value from their security investments.

What is your company’s vision, and what are your goals for the security industry?

SM: Our vision is to be a trusted technology partner that helps organizations embrace innovation with confidence. We want to contribute to a security industry where technology is not only about protection, but also about improving operational efficiency and supporting better business decisions.

What do you think are the biggest opportunities in the security industry right now?

SM: I believe one of the biggest opportunities is the convergence of physical security and cybersecurity. Organizations are looking for integrated, intelligent solutions, and technologies like artificial intelligence, cloud platforms and data analytics are making that possible.

What are your predictions for the security industry in the short and long term?

SM: We’ll continue to see greater adoption of unified security platforms and AI-driven analytics. Looking ahead, open architectures, interoperability and cybersecurity will become essential components of every modern security solution.

What are the biggest challenges facing your company and/or others in the security industry?

SM: Technology evolves quickly, so staying ahead of new trends while helping customers adapt is one of our biggest challenges. At the same time, developing skilled professionals who understand both IT and security remains a priority across the industry.

What do you most enjoy about working at your company—and in the security industry?

SM: What I enjoy most is seeing how technology can solve real business challenges. Every project is different, and being surrounded by certified industry professionals—while working side by side with them to design solutions that improve our customers’ safety, efficiency and day-to-day operations—is incredibly rewarding.

What does SIA offer that is most important to you/your company, and what do you most hope to get out of your membership with SIA?

SM: For us, SIA is a place to connect with industry leaders, stay informed about emerging technologies and share knowledge with the global security community. We’re looking forward to building new relationships, learning from other members and contributing our own experience to the conversation.

How does your organization engage with SIA? What are your plans for involvement in the next year?

SM: We’re excited to become more involved in the SIA community by participating in industry events, educational programs and member initiatives. We also look forward to collaborating with other members and staying engaged with the trends shaping the future of security.
