SIA New Member Profile: StellNet Systems Integration
The Security Industry Association (SIA) welcomes aboard StellNet Systems Integration, Elmhurst, N.Y., as a new member of the association.
We exchanged email with Mark Dziwirek, Stellnet Systems Integration President, to learn more about his background and his company.
How did you get into the security industry?
Having a knack for technology, I went on to college and studied Electronic and Electrical Engineering as well as IT Management. Upon officially becoming a Certified Technician, I started my career at Aldona Fire Protection, where I advanced as a Lead Engineer.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
I enjoy the fact that I can make an impact and extreme change in the way fire alarms systems save lives. And I say “systems” so that professionals in this industry and others seeking fire safety will learn that it is not only the fire alarm that will save you but also the way it is monitored and managed. So after creating the Stell Guard product, I am able to experience the satisfaction of giving others the power of security and safety within the users own hands.
What’s your company’s biggest challenge right now?
The biggest challenge as of yet is getting the word out about our new product. We are currently in the early marketing stages, and we have not had much exposure. This will soon change due to the upcoming shows and exhibits where we will showcase it.
What trends does your company foresee for the security industry in the next year?
Looking into the future of the fire security industry, I see many more advances on wireless monitoring for larger organizations, along with remote technical support.
What does your organization receive from membership in SIA? How do you plan to be active in the association in the next year?
The main benefit of receiving membership at SIA is the many networking events. Networking gives us numerous opportunities for new business and exposure that we need to let the world know that it needs our products.
Will your company participate in an upcoming event with SIA such as ISC West, New Product Showcase or Government Summit? If so, what appeals most to your company?
Yes, we will be attending the above-mentioned events. They will really give us much needed exposure. We also look forward to seeing many of our competitors all in one place. We would like to see new products that we could possibly enhance or integrate with ours if given the need.
