Janet Fenner of ISS will lead volunteer group focused on creating member value

SILVER SPRING, Md. – The Security Industry Association (SIA) has appointed Janet Fenner of ISS (Intelligent Security Systems) as the new chair of SIA’s Membership and Marketing Committee. In this role, Fenner – who previously served as vice chair – will guide SIA in creating member value, especially for the purposes of increasing member retention, new member development and overall member engagement. She will also lead the committee in serving as a valued sounding board for validating the member benefits developed by SIA’s committees and staff.

“I am excited to be serving as chair of the Membership and Marketing committee for SIA as our industry grows,” said Fenner. “The possibilities SIA has to expand its reach to other verticals that can bring more business and networking to an already vast member group is one that I look forward to exploring with such a great team.”

Fenner, who joined ISS as chief marketing officer in July 2018, is responsible for the company’s global marketing activities and leads development and execution of new branding and positioning strategies to support new business initiatives and enhance the company’s perception in the physical security and business intelligence markets.

“Janet’s many accomplishments and longtime dedication to the security industry have shown that she has the insights and expertise to help SIA propel its membership growth,” said SIA Chairman of the Board Scott Schafer. “We are thrilled to welcome this talented leader to guide SIA in developing and executing a high-quality portfolio of member programs, products and services.”

Prior to her role at ISS, Fenner served as head of marketing for North America and director of business development at Dahua Technology USA. She also previously served at Hanwha Techwin America and the Brady Corp. Additionally, Fenner is an active supporter and advisory board member of Mission 500, a not-for-profit organization focused on the professional security community’s efforts to assist families in need across the United States. She is an active member of SIA and ASIS International and a well-sought speaker for various industry events. She is also a member of the SIA Board of Directors.
