Summit to Highlight Top Security Issues Facing Government

SILVER SPRING, Md. – The Security Industry Association (SIA) has announced that the 2019 SIA GovSummit, its annual public policy and government security technology conference, will be held June 26-27 in Washington, D.C. This premier event will bring together government security leaders and private industry technologists for top-quality information sharing and education on security topics affecting federal, state and even local agencies.

Day 1 of SIA GovSummit 2019 will be held at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center and gather a variety of public- and private-sector professionals, including federal agency employees, military and law enforcement personnel and technology executives, to examine emerging policy trends, technology needs of the government and changes in the risk environment that shape development of products and advanced systems integration to meet evolving security challenges. Topics for discussion include:

  • New policies and legislation impacting security
  • Evolving federal acquisition priorities
  • Emerging technology for public safety and homeland security
  • Government standards driving adoption of security technology

Attendees will also enjoy top-notch networking with other government, agency and industry peers. On day 2 of GovSummit, SIA members will have the opportunity to visit congressional offices on Capitol Hill.

“Each year, SIA GovSummit is where government, security and technology come together to explore how security technologies can be leveraged to drive success across a wide spectrum of government missions,” said Jake Parker, director of government relations at SIA. “We look forward to providing conference attendees the opportunity to network, share information and work together on security investment priorities and other key issues and challenges.”

The official hotel for SIA GovSummit 2019 is the JW Marriott Washington, D.C., located in the heart of downtown D.C. on Pennsylvania Avenue, steps from the conference venue. SIA will offer a special discounted rate for GovSummit attendees.

This event is free for all government employees, including U.S. and international federal, state, county and municipal-level staff, plus all military, law enforcement and public safety personnel.
