SIA New Member Profile: YourSix

New Security Industry Association (SIA) member YourSix is an award-winning physical security as a service (PSaaS) provider. The company is headquartered in St. Paul, Minnesota, with its Center of Excellence and European headquarters located in Lund, Sweden.

SIA spoke with Eric Styles, CEO of YourSix, about the company’s history and offerings, the security industry and working with SIA.

Tell us the story of your company.

Eric Styles: YourSix Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Jacob Hengel and I co-founded the company in 2015 on the premise that the physical security industry was outdated and needed transformation. Our long history in cloud technology and security solutions allowed us to build a cloud-based software platform that we felt was absent from the market. The YourSixOS (Y6OS) solution is a unified platform that converges video surveillance and more into a single pure cloud-based offering. Our growth can be attributed to our partner-driven model, arming partners with a cloud solution their end customers seek. Our commitment to helping partners build and adopt a cloud practice has aided YourSix in being recognized by some of the most influential names in the security industry. We have been listed as one of the fastest-growing private companies in the United States, making the esteemed Inc. 5000 and Vet100 lists two years in a row. 

What solutions/services does your business offer in the security industry? And what makes your offerings/company unique?

ES: YourSix’s core product is our Y6OS software, a powerful cloud-based visual intelligence platform. Our software enables partners to bring a modern, unified cloud-based physical security solution to their end customers. Y6OS is built upon open standards-based technologies, enabling unlimited integration potential with select hardware and software solutions.

What is something we might not know about your company – or something new you are doing in security?

ES: In 2020, in its Inc. 5000 list, Inc. Magazine named YourSix the No. 1 fastest-growing private company in the U.S. within the security industry.

What does SIA offer that is most important to you and your company? And what do you most hope to get out of membership?

ES: As a SIA member, our commitment to remain entrenched within the industry and learn what customers and partners require for success is a huge benefit for YourSix. Additionally, our membership offers deeper inclusion to a community of security professionals, including our partners. As cloud-based solutions become the standard, YourSix will continue to influence best practices to deliver PSaaS & video surveillance as a service solutions successfully.
