  • On Data Privacy Day 2025, SIA released a new course offering, the Data Privacy Pro Certificate! This 2-hour self-paced e-learning course, presented by SIA with underwriting support from the Secure Worker Access Consortium, can help you advance your expertise on key data privacy concepts and gain strategies for data protection and compliance. Members can take the course for free; learn more and enroll here.
  • SIA members can now access the 2025 Guide to U.S. Biometric Privacy Laws! This informative publication shares key details on state and local biometric information and related legislative trends. Members have free access to the guide, and nonmembers can purchase it from the SIA store.
COVID-19 Resources
  • Boost your security projects and career with the next Basics of Security Project Management (SPM) course, coming up Feb. 24-27! More than just knowing the technology, successful project management involves budgeting, client management, timeline execution and more. When you’re ready to excel, this virtual course can help!
  • On Jan. 29, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) office rescinded its Jan. 27 memo ordering a pause in federal grants until agencies can review programs and projects for consistency with President Trump’s executive orders (EOs) pertaining to federal funding. However, White House officials subsequently clarified that while the memo (which was subject to Court injunction) was rescinded, the freeze was not, and that the EOs on federal funding “remain in full force and will be rigorously implemented.” In this blog, SIA’s Jake Parker explains what this means for the security industry.
TIME Call for Mentors
