The latest edition of SIA Technology Insights is here! The spring 2025 issue of SIA’s semiannual technology journal features expert-written articles on topics ranging from making the most of edge artificial intelligence to fostering trust in security video footage, holistic counterdrone planning and more.

New research from SIA! Mexican Physical Security Market Assessment 2025 provides insights into the equipment, technologies and economic significance of the security industry in Mexico. SIA partnered with global analytics and advisory firm Omdia to complete the research.
SIA is pleased to present an impactful resource – Operational Security Technology: Principles, Challenges and Achieving Mission-Critical Outcomes Leveraging OST. Authored by cyber-physical security experts John Deskurakis and Chris Lynch, this in-depth SIA report explores prominent types of OST and their corresponding challenges, as well as best practices and strategies for optimal delivery.

SIA has announced the agenda and speakers for SIA GovSummit, SIA’s annual public policy and government security conference. At SIA GovSummit 2025 (May 20-21 in Washington, D.C.), attendees will examine key security priorities under the Trump administration, safety and compliance planning as organizations return to the office and more.
On April 4, 2025, SB25-143 cleared the Colorado General Assembly. For certain applications, the measure conditionally lifts an existing moratorium on new contracting for facial recognition technology by Colorado public schools in place since 2022, while extending the prohibition applicable to additional uses that would otherwise expire July 1.
