Arturo Falck: Whoo was founded with a simple yet powerful idea: make intercoms smarter and more accessible through software. We began by transforming traditional video intercoms into mobile-first, cloud-powered tools that residents and property managers actually enjoy using. Our work started in multifamily residential buildings, and we’ve grown steadily by focusing on great design, reliability and user experience – bringing a consumer-grade interface to commercial-grade security.

What solutions/services does your business offer in the security industry? And what makes your offerings or your company unique?

AF: We build software that powers modern video intercoms – making it possible to manage access remotely, integrate with property management systems and receive calls on a smartphone instead of fixed hardware. What sets us apart is our ability to deliver intuitive, beautiful user experiences while keeping security and reliability at the core. We’re also pioneering the use of conversational AI to bring a new layer of intelligence to physical access.

What is something we might not know about your company – or something new you are doing in security?

AF: We’re currently piloting a conversational artificial intelligence (AI) product with New York’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority allowing Help Points to interact naturally with riders in multiple languages. This same technology is a natural fit for intercoms in higher education and corporate campuses, municipalities, transportation authorities and ports – anywhere visitors need quick, friendly and intelligent assistance.

What does SIA offer that is most important to you/your company? And what do you most hope to get out of your membership with SIA?

AF: SIA gives us a chance to connect with forward-thinking partners in the security industry and stay current with emerging standards, policy and technology. We’re especially excited about opportunities to collaborate on best practices for AI and access control in public spaces.
