  • Looking for a meaningful way to get more involved with SIA? The SIA Open House Series, going on every Thursday in May, offers a virtual opportunity to explore our committees, communities and working groups—and find the right fit for your interests and experience.   • Speakers wanted! Here are two great opportunities to take the stage at a SIA event:
    • SIA is looking for sessions and speakers for the SIA Education@ISC programs at ISC East 2026 (Nov. 3–5 in New York City) and ISC West 2027 (April 5–9 in Las Vegas). Don’t wait; proposals are due June 5! Learn more and get started here.
    • We’re looking for speakers for the 2026 AcceleRISE conference, coming to San Diego Aug. 3–5 and bringing together young professionals and emerging leaders from across the security ecosystem to explore new ideas, challenge assumptions and learn from diverse perspectives. SIA GovSummit Agenda Announced May 20-21, 2026, Washington, D.C.
  • SIA has revealed its keynotes and government expert speakers for the 2026 SIA GovSummit conference. Gharun Lacy, deputy assistant secretary at the U.S. Department of State; Joshua Obstfeld, section chief at the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and other leaders will share insights at SIA’s public policy and government security technology conference May 20–21 in D.C. Learn more and register here.
  • On May 13, join us virtually for the K–12 School Security Symposium! Explore widely used school security resources and broader approaches and technologies used to strengthen school security programs. RSVP here.
  • SIA is bringing you two fun, free ways to network with your local industry professionals this month: the SIA National Capital Region Security Forum networking event in the D.C. area on May 19 (kicking off GovSummit week!) and SIAThere! Nashville happening May 28. We hope to see you there!
Expo Seguridad Mexico
  • Time is running out to register for Expo Seguridad México 2026, coming to Mexico City June 2–4! Expo Seguridad México, from RX (operator of the ISC Security Events, ISC West and ISC East), is the largest event for the security industry in Latin America, and SIA is proud to be the premier sponsor of this fast-growing security expo.   • On June 4, SIA is pleased to host a webinar on designing secure and effective corporate ID credentials. We’ll do an in-depth exploration of the newly released Corporate Credential Design Guide—a comprehensive, vendor-neutral resource for designing, implementing and managing secure, interoperable and user-friendly corporate identity credentials. SIA Endowment Program
  • Share your idea for a SIA endowment proposal! SIA’s Endowment Fund serves as a funding source for new initiatives that will provide value to SIA members and fuels growth, expansion and innovation. Share your idea by May 25!
  • Security LeadHER, a conference presented by SIA and ASIS International and designed to advance, connect and empower women in security, is coming up June 15–16 in Minneapolis, Minnesota! Check out the agenda and access $200 off registration as a SIA member.
  • Just announced! On June 24, join us in D.C. for Perimeter PREVENT, a high-impact event produced with the guidance of the SIA Perimeter Security Subcommittee and focused on the critical issues related to perimeter detection, alerting and defense.
  • SIA has named Nathan Wells as the first-ever recipient of the SIA Valuing Experience, Talent and Service (VETS) Award, presented by SIA’s Veterans in Security community. SIA will present Wells with the award at SIA GovSummit, SIA’s annual public policy and government security technology conference, held May 20–21 in Washington, D.C.
