Valuing Experience, Talent and Service (VETS) Award
Recognizing Dedication to Supporting Veterans in Security
About the VETS Award
The Security Industry Association (SIA) Valuing Experience, Talent and Service (VETS) Award, presented by the SIA Veterans in Security community, honors an individual who has shown exceptional dedication to supporting military veterans in the security industry. It recognizes leadership in championing veteran recruitment, mentoring and career development, as well as advocating for initiatives that ease the transition from military to civilian roles.
Recognition is given for personal impact on veteran advancement, commitment to inclusion, efforts that improve workplace opportunities and well-being and support for the broader veteran and military communities. Award recipients exemplify how one person’s commitment to valuing veterans’ experience, talent and service enhances individual lives while strengthening the security industry as a whole.
Recipients of the VETS Award are recognized at SIA GovSummit, SIA's annual public policy and government security conference.
2026 VETS Award Recipient: Nathan Wells
SIA has named Nathan Well as the inaugural recipient of the SIA Valuing Experience, Talent and Service (VETS) Award.
Nathan Wells is an account executive at Convergint and a dedicated advocate for veteran advancement within the security industry. A U.S. Navy veteran, Wells has over 20 years of experience leading strategic security initiatives for enterprise clients in the utility, government and critical infrastructure sectors.
