Hospitals protect environments where physical safety, patient care, technology and critical infrastructure are deeply interconnected. The challenge is growing: the American Hospital Association (AHA) estimates(opens in new tab) that workplace and community violence cost U.S. hospitals $18.27 billion in 2023, while hospitals continue to face increasingly sophisticated cyber threats that can disrupt clinical operations, compromise sensitive information and put patient safety at risk. The Federal Bureau of Investigation Cyber Division 2025 Annual Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) report(opens in new tab) showed that compared to all other critical infrastructure sectors, health care is the No. 1 sector targeted by ransomware.
This Vertical Insights symposium, presented by the Security Industry Association in partnership with the American Hospital Association, will bring together health care security professionals and technology leaders to examine how hospitals and health systems are building a more comprehensive approach to security across both the physical and digital environments. The discussion will explore how technologies such as access control, video surveillance, threat detection, cloud infrastructure and data security can work together to address today’s most pressing risks. Through real-world perspectives and emerging technology solutions, speakers will explore how hospitals can move beyond siloed security functions to create layered security strategies that protect people, maintain clinical continuity and strengthen resilience across the entire health system.

With more than 25 years of experience in physical security, enterprise technology, and channel development, Frost has built successful partnerships with leading systems integrators, monitoring centers and technology providers throughout North America.
At 3Si, Frost has been instrumental in expanding the adoption of DirectToDispatch, a verified police dispatch pathway helping bridge the gap between private security and public safety by delivering verified video, audio and dispatch-ready intelligence to police dispatch centers. His work focuses on supporting informed emergency response, increasing situational awareness and creating stronger collaboration between commercial security organizations and public safety agencies.
Throughout his career, Frost has specialized in developing go-to-market strategies, building high-performing partner ecosystems and helping organizations leverage technology to solve complex security challenges. He regularly works with Fortune 500 companies, higher education institutions, health care organizations, critical infrastructure providers and public safety professionals to improve situational awareness and operational response.

Scott GeeDeputy National Advisor for Cybersecurity and Risk, American Hospital AssociationAs deputy national advisor for cybersecurity and risk for the American Hospital Association (AHA), Scott Gee works with John Riggi, the AHA’s national advisor for cybersecurity and risk, to develop strategies and operating priorities to support and advance the cybersecurity and physical risk mitigation practices of the nation’s hospital’s and health systems. In addition, hedelivers cybersecurity and risk training for hospital and health system executives, state and regional hospital associations and commercial partners.
Gee is a seasoned cybersecurity professional and Certified Information Systems Security Professional with extensive senior leadership experience in both the public and private sectors. Most recently, he served as cyber incident response manager at Microsoft. There, he was responsible for overseeing critical elements of the security infrastructure and cybersecurity capabilities, ensuring the safety and security of sensitive government customer networks and billions of dollars in assets and intellectual property.
Gee also served with distinction for 22 years with the U.S. Secret Service (USSS), where he improved technical cyber and investigative operations across multiple governmental departments, including building the USSS Counter Drone Unit; his expertise in digital forensics and mobile wireless investigations set new standards for training and performance as leader of the Secret Service cybercrime training program; and he was the recipient of the USSS Director’s Award. Scott provided protection for the president and vice president of the United States, and was integral in developing initial policies for the Cyber Security Advisory Board of the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency. He also represented the USSS in high-profile speaking engagements around the world, providing briefings, presentations and training on cybersecurity and other topics.
While serving as a USSS Attaché in London, Gee established and led the United Kingdom Electronic Crimes Task Force, working with international agencies and private sector security partners to disrupt cybercriminal organizations, including ransomware gangs.

Jason GrellnerVice President, Health Care, Evolv TechnologiesJason Grellner serves as vice president of health care for Evolv. Grellner has an extensive history in the public safety sector, serving over 25 years as a police officer in Missouri. Over his tenure, he served as a lieutenant and narcotics unit commander and coordinator and was also the vice president of the National Narcotics Officers’ Associations’ Coalition representing 60,000 officers nationwide. Prior to joining Evolv, Grellner had transitioned to the private sector, where he was executive director of public safety for Mercy Healthcare with responsibility for the security of 42 Hospitals, 600 clinics, 76 retail pharmacies and 43,000 coworkers. He holds a Bachelor of Criminology and Sociology from the University of Missouri.

Mark MooreChief Security Officer, Dayton Children's HospitalMark Moore has been chief security officer at Dayton Children’s Hospital in Dayton, Ohio, since 2018. He also currently serves as the vice chair of the board for the Ohio chapter of the International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety (IAHSS), the organization’s most recent Chapter of the Year. For two decades Moore led dignitary/executive/family protection details for former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, Bill and Melinda Gates, two presidents of the Republic of Haiti and three generations of a private ultra-high-net-worth family in the Midwest. He also served honorably for more than 10 years in the United States Marine Corps, which included 13 classified missions leading the security detachment for the Marine-One presidential helicopter squadron (HMX-1).
