Honoring Frank De Fina at SIA Honors Night

Security Industry Association (SIA)

It was an honor and a pleasure for everyone at SIA to have known and to have worked with Frank De Fina.

Mr. De Fina passed away unexpectedly in July 2015. At the time of his death, Mr. De Fina was Senior Director of Strategic Sales for Hikvision USA Inc., and he was serving on the SIA Board of Directors.

It is with respect and pride that SIA honors him tonight with the George R. Lippert Memorial Award for outstanding contributions to the security industry. He was a generous leader whose knowledge, experience and wit made extraordinary contributions to the security community
Part of Mr. De Fina’s work with SIA included developing the Associate in Applied Science Degree in Security Systems Technology, which was recently launched, at Mercer County Community College in New Jersey. That is part of his legacy with SIA.

Mr. De Fina spent nearly 30 years in the security industry. Prior to joining the Hikvision team, he served as executive vice president of sales and marketing for SightLogix, a manufacturer of smart thermal cameras for outdoor security applications.

Before SightLogix, he was executive vice president of sales and marketing for Samsung Techwin America. Mr. De Fina previously spent 26 years at Panasonic, where he eventually became President and Chief Operating Officer at Panasonic Systems Solutions Company.

The Lippert Award, founded in 1989, is named in honor of George R. Lippert, who dedicated more than 20 years of his life to the security industry and SIA. The Lippert Award recognizes long-term service to SIA and the security industry, the impact of efforts on behalf of SIA and the industry, and integrity, leadership and diplomacy as demonstrated in industry dealings.

Please join us in New York City on Wednesday, Nov. 18, to pay respects to Mr. De Fina and other security industry luminaries. Registration is open at https://www.securityindustry.org/honors.
