SIA Grows Government Awareness of Pressing Issues in the Security Industry

SIA Organizes Congressional Visit to Member Company Altronix

On Jan. 3, as part of a visit organized by the Security Industry Association (SIA), Rep. Yvette Clarke (D-N.Y.), vice chairwoman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee and a member of the House Homeland Security Committee, toured SIA member company Altronix’s facility and headquarters in Brooklyn, New York.

Altronix, which employs approximately 300 employees, is a global leader in power and data transmission solutions for professional security, surveillance, access control and fire applications.

During the visit, Rep. Clarke met with several Altronix employees and constituents to discuss pressing issues impacting the security industry. As a longtime advocate and champion of security issues, Rep. Clarke witnessed firsthand how security products are assembled while learning about global supply chain processes that enable companies to expand into emerging markets.
