James Rothstein, president of Sequel Low Voltage and formerly chair of the Security Industry Association, has had a distinguished career spanning the security, distribution and wire and cable industries. He also serves as a board director of i-PRO and Unlimited Technologies. Rothstein brings over three decades of experience to his new role of leading the strategic direction and expansion of Sequel’s overall business, as well as overseeing the Low Voltage division.
Rothstein’s extensive background includes leadership positions as operating partner for Lee Equity, a New York-based private equity firm, as well as global board of directors role at i-PRO. He has served as the senior vice president of global security solutions for Wesco, where he held P&L responsibilities for the firm’s $2+ billion global security and fire business. Rothstein was one of the owners of Tri-Ed Distribution, which was then sold to Anixter in 2015. He served as the senior vice president of marketing for Fatwire Software, an enterprise software solution later acquired by Oracle. Rothstein’s earlier experience included nearly a decade at Honeywell’s ADI division, where he served as the vice president of marketing and general manager. He holds a B.S. in economics from Colgate University, where he was captain of the men’s rugby team.
