Leverage Grants for Success! Access SIA's Grants Training Course to help security teams finance their projects

You’re a trusted advisor in so many ways to security practitioners. But have you thought about the additional value you could offer by having a baseline understanding of how grant funds can be used for security projects?

SIA’s Grants Training Course is a new tool that helps security integrators and manufacturers advise security teams protecting schools, transit systems, ports, airports, places of worship and government facilities about the availability and use of grant funds.

Upon completion of this course, security manufacturers and integrators will become better equipped to help end users identify and apply for security grants. Course participants will also become familiar with common grant program terminology and policies – critical information needed to advise grant applicants.

This self-paced, on-demand e-learning course is comprised of three modules (12 lessons)  that includes a participant workbook with templates, outlines and exercises to reinforce key learning objectives and aid in on-the-job planning for grant applications.

Each participant must successfully complete the knowledge check for each module to earn a Certificate of Completion.

Course Participants Will Receive:

  • 90-day access to the online course content
  • A downloadable Participant Workbook
  • Helpful templates and outlines
  • SIA’s Federal Grants Guide (pdf download)
  • SIA’s Guide to School Security Funding (pdf download)

FAQs

Q: Is this course just for companies which serve the federal market?

A: No! Grants are not allocated to federal agencies and the course applies best for solution providers serving vertical markets other than the federal market. This course applies to grants that are received by state and local entities to protect various components of critical infrastructure such as  K-12 schools, airports, and places of worship.

Q: Is this course valuable for smaller businesses and systems integrators?

A: Yes! The course "makes good business sense" and will save small businesses time and money, particularly those that do not have grant researchers and writers on staff. Security integrators may find they can offer "grants as a service” as a result of taking this class. Be a trusted advisor; help your customers earn grant funding.

Q: Are there opportunities for customized training?

A: Yes. SIA will also offer special rates for additional one-on-one consulting time with an experienced grant writing professional. Participants who are interested in receiving feedback on the exercises/activities completed during the course, discussing a current project or grant proposal or just generally speaking with a grant writing adviser may elect to sign up for consultative hours for an additional fee.
