Start day 3 of ISC West off right by joining SIA Women in Security Forum (WISF) members for a motivating keynote event! Network with other inspiring women in security and hear a dynamic presentation from special guest speaker Kate Maxwell, general manager for the worldwide education industry at Microsoft, about what it means to be the “Woman in the Arena” who strives, who struggles, who keeps showing up and who never loses track of who she is and what she stands for.

During this event, we'll also recognize and celebrate the inspiring women leaders honored in the SIA WISF Power 100.

Special Guest Speaker: Kate Maxwell

Kate Maxwell delivers on Microsoft’s mission to empower every person and organization on the planet to achieve more. She is an accomplished technology leader and STEM education advocate with 20 years of experience supporting public-sector customers and students around the world. Maxwell has expertise in digital transformation, engineering and technology strategy and business culture reform, and is a sought-after public speaker, author and innovator. Maxwell holds two patents and inspires audiences on keynote stages and conference proceedings both domestically and abroad.

Maxwell previously held roles as chief technology officer for the Microsoft Worldwide Defense and Intelligence industry and various defense industrial base leadership positions within RTX (formerly Raytheon). She was named No. 1 of the "Top 100 Women in Tech" by Technology Magazine in 2023 and one of "100 Women in Tech Leaders to Watch" by WomenTech in 2022 and 2023. She was honored as the Indianapolis Business Journal Tech Executive of the Year in 2022, was a 40 Under 40 Recipient in 2021 and was a Woman of Influence in 2019. Maxwell is active in the Society of Women Engineers and is a two-time national award winner. She holds a master's degree in systems engineering from George Mason University and a bachelor's degree in computer science from the University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown.
