Get Involved With SIA

SIA’s committees, working groups, interest groups and advisory boards help guide the association – and lead the industry – by defining policy, developing standards, planning education, training and professional development offerings, creating resources and member benefits and organizing membership activities.

There are a number of ways to get involved in SIA’s education, training and professional programs:

• Present at industry events and trade shows, including ISC West and East, SIA GovSummit, AcceleRISE, Securing New Ground and the SIAThere! professional development roundtables and networking events
• Present to SIA members through a SIA webinar
• Volunteer to instruct a course in SIA’s security systems technology degree program with community colleges
• Join the SIA scholarships review board, which awards funds to security industry professionals for their use in further education, training and professional growth opportunities
• Promote the industry through outreach to colleges, universities and technical schools

SIA’s government relations team works diligently on issues that matter to our members and the safety of our citizens. Volunteer to meet with government officials, raise awareness of issues important to security businesses and advocate on behalf of the industry.

Position yourself and your company as a thought leader in the security industry by contributing to:

• The SIA blog, which shares the latest perspectives and information on security topics and issues
• SIA Technology Insights, a semi-annual journal that looks to the cutting edge of trends in security technology solutions and applications
• A SIA Member Profile for inclusion in SIA’s blog and SIA Update newsletter (contact Kara Klein for more information)
• The SIA Center of Excellence, an  online repository of vendor-neutral, vetted information including on-demand training courses, e-learning modules, webinars, articles and more
