Security Industry Association Names Dan Cremins as Built Environment Advisory Board Chair

Announcing New Chair of SIA's Built Environment Advisory Board Dan Cremins Delta Electronics

Dan Cremins, senior business development manager at Delta Electronics, will spearhead the advisory board’s efforts to foster engagement between the proptech community and the global security industry.

SILVER SPRING, Md. – The Security Industry Association (SIA) has appointed Dan Cremins of Delta Electronics to serve as the new chair of SIA’s Built Environment Advisory Board.

The SIA Built Environment Advisory Board – formerly the Proptech Advisory Board – was created to grow engagement between the proptech community and the global security industry through partnerships, education and thought leadership.

“I am excited to work with SIA and members of the Built Environment Advisory Board to represent the physical security industry in this broader market,” said Cremins. “I first joined the original SIA Proptech Advisory board at the same time I transitioned into a role focused on smart building solutions. Spending time in this other market, I saw that while physical security was mentioned, the data it offers was not being fully utilized, which is an opportunity for any organization. The Built Environment Advisory Board can bridge all markets to show how access control, video and other security solutions can add value beyond security to be part of a holistic, intelligent building solution.”

Dan Cremins serves as senior business development manager for Delta Electronics, covering North America, where he helps customers leverage technology to create energy efficient, healthier and secure buildings. He also works within Delta Electronics Building Automation group, which includes companies March Networks and Vivotek, to drive integrated solutions between security, building automation, lighting and energy management systems. Cremins has over 31 years of experience in the security industry. Having started as an application engineer at American Dynamics, he first spent his career helping to design large scale video systems for casinos, airports and highway traffic systems before moving on to product management roles leading the development of solutions still in the market today. Cremins later led the product management team at March Networks, focused on multisite enterprise applications in retail, banking and transportation. He also worked with the Financial & Security Products Association to form the Branch Transformation Committee to advance the use of technology to create the branch of the future. Cremins joined March Networks parent company Delta Electronics in 2023 as part of a new Building Solutions team.

“SIA is proud to welcome Dan Cremins as the new chair of SIA’s Built Environment Advisory Board,” said SIA CEO Don Erickson. “Dan’s security industry expertise and deep knowledge of how technology can safeguard and optimize buildings and facilities will bring outstanding value to the advisory board’s efforts. We look forward to collaborating with Dan and the advisory board in developing top-quality educational content and fostering thought leadership, networking and engagement in this space.”

The SIA Built Environment Advisory Board’s primary efforts and accomplishments include publishing the SIA Proptech Report, which evaluates proptech trends, market size and buying interests affiliated with security solutions in commercial real estate, including office environments and multifamily housing, and producing a helpful series of blogs and videos on proptech security topics. The advisory board holds regular in-person meetings at ISC West and East.
