Our end-to-end ownership – from design to deployment – enables us to respond faster and deliver deeper value across diverse market needs.

What are your predictions for the security industry in the short and long term?

TS:

Short-Term Outlook:

The immediate future of the security industry is being shaped by strong analytics, cybersecurity mandates, and cloud-based deployments. Customers no longer want just footage – they want real-time, actionable insights. There’s a visible uptick in demand for NDAA-compliant, GDPR-ready and cyber-secured surveillance systems, especially in sectors like manufacturing, government and critical infrastructure.

As data protection laws tighten and compliance becomes a prerequisite, vendors must integrate cybersecurity into the foundation of their physical security systems – not as an add-on. This is already influencing product evaluations and purchase decisions globally.

  • Delivering made-in-India, built-for-the-world solutions that are robust, scalable and future-proof

With full product ownership and a clear technology road map, Matrix is strongly positioned to lead the industry into its next phase – from reactive security to proactive intelligence.

What are the biggest challenges facing your company and/or others in the security industry?

TS: One of the most pressing challenges in the security industry today is the proliferation of low-cost, noncompliant products that prioritize short-term affordability over long-term reliability and security. This commoditization has fragmented the market, undermined quality benchmarks and eroded trust – especially among enterprise customers who require mission-critical uptime and global compliance.

Such products often fail under real-world stress or introduce cyber vulnerabilities that put entire systems at risk. In contrast, Matrix is committed to building enterprise-grade solutions designed for high reliability. For instance, our network video recorders and IP cameras boast an MTBF of over 100,000 hours, delivering the durability required for 24/7 operations across sectors like manufacturing, logistics, BFSI and government.

Another growing challenge is compliance fatigue. As governments worldwide enforce stricter standards around cybersecurity, data protection and operational certifications, many legacy or low-cost vendors fall short – leaving end users vulnerable to regulatory violations.

At Matrix, we’ve chosen to meet this challenge head-on by designing all products in house, ensuring IP control and accountability; aligning with global certifications such as NDAA, GDPR, SIRA and OWASP guidelines; and embedding cybersecurity by design in every layer of hardware and software. This future-ready approach not only differentiates Matrix in a crowded market but also empowers our customers to deploy with confidence, compliance and continuity – even in the most regulated environments.

What do you enjoy most about being at your company – and in the security industry?

TS: What makes being at Matrix truly fulfilling is the end-to-end ownership of innovation. Here, we don’t just talk about ideas – we build them, test them and deploy them into the real world. From R&D labs to large-scale deployments, it’s incredibly rewarding to see our products make a measurable impact – protecting people, places and operations every single day.

There’s a powerful sense of purpose and accountability that comes from working on technologies that enable safety and resilience across industries. And with our full-stack approach of hardware, software, and design all under one roof where every challenge becomes a shared opportunity to solve creatively.

Being in the security industry means living in a space where the stakes are high, the pace is fast and the learning never stops. We’re constantly adapting, anticipating threats and exploring what’s next – whether it’s cybersecurity, AI-led analytics or compliance readiness. That’s what makes it not just a job, but a mission.
