SIA Member Profile: KasaFuerte Diego Herkommer, executive director, KasaFuerte

New Security Industry Association (SIA) member KasaFuerte offers integration of security and loss control solutions. The company, founded in Guadalajara, Mexico, has a nationwide presence in Mexico with offices and facilities in Guadalajara, Monterrey and Mexico City.

SIA spoke with Diego Herkommer, executive director of KasaFuerte, about the company, the security industry and working with SIA.

Tell us the story of your company.

Diego Herkommer: More than three decades ago, KasaFuerte was founded by Sandra Caballero Mier Tirado, starting as a business focused on high-security locks and backed by the family’s experience with TESA, a renowned brand in the sector. Over time, the company expanded its offering to include safes, electric fencing and monitoring systems, gradually evolving into a provider of comprehensive electronic security solutions.

Through professionalization and a strong commitment to quality, KasaFuerte became a specialized security company serving large corporations and collaborating with international brands. A key milestone occurred when the CEO of Walmart visited Guadalajara—during that meeting, Engineer Adolfo Caballero Mier promoted the idea of partnering with local suppliers, which led to KasaFuerte becoming a direct provider for Walmart and marking its entry into the retail market.

Today, I oversee the company’s overall strategy and operations. Within the commercial structure, Fernando Mendoza leads the SIE business unit, while Abraham Aguilar heads the Walmart business unit, strengthening the company’s presence and growth in both areas. The Caballero family remains actively involved on the board, ensuring the continuity of the values and vision that have guided the company throughout its history.

What solutions/services does your business offer in the security industry? And what makes your offerings unique?

DH: At KasaFuerte, we provide much more than electronic security solutions—we deliver an integrated approach that combines advanced technology, strategic consulting and personalized support to create tangible value for our clients.

Our portfolio includes CCTV (video surveillance), access control, fire detection, loss prevention systems, perimeter security, alarm systems and structured cabling. We specialize in turnkey projects, managing every stage from engineering to installation, ensuring consistent, high-quality results.

With strategic warehouses and in-house logistics, we guarantee immediate availability of key equipment and materials. We also partner with world-class brands such as Wesco Anixter, Hanwha and Commscope, integrating high-performance solutions. Our focus goes beyond protection—we help companies optimize operations, increase efficiency and ensure business continuity, turning security into a strategic enabler for growth.

Tell us something we might not know about your company—or something new you’re doing in security.

DH:Beyond implementing security systems, KasaFuerte positions itself as a strategic partner for clients, helping them identify opportunities to optimize operations and improve efficiency. We have incorporated video analytics, system integration, and advanced digital tools that enhance logistics flows, mitigate risks and create safer, more productive environments.

One of our key differentiators is our focus on training loss prevention leaders, fostering a culture of growth within client organizations. As integrators, we not only deliver technology—we also help our clients strengthen their strategic capabilities, ensuring that security contributes directly to business success and long-term continuity.

What do you see as the greatest opportunity in the security industry today?

DH: Today, the security industry has the opportunity to transcend its traditional protective role and become a strategic ally for business operations. The integration of video analytics, machine learning, Internet of Things and automation is transforming the landscape—security systems now provide not only protection but also valuable data for decision making.

In sectors such as retail and industrial operations, there is a growing demand for solutions that improve operational efficiency, optimize logistics control and reduce losses. This shift creates space for integrators to deliver tailored, high-value solutions, positioning security as an integral part of corporate strategy rather than a simple cost center.

Moreover, as organizations modernize their infrastructure, adopting security technology becomes a competitive advantage—one that differentiates companies that merely protect their assets from those that turn protection into productivity and sustainable growth.

What are your short- and long-term predictions for the security industry?

DH: In the short term, we foresee increasing demand for integrated systems and turnkey projects, where clients look for partners capable of handling every stage—from engineering to implementation. The use of machine learning in video analytics, alongside smarter and more accessible perimeter security systems, will significantly enhance how retail and industrial sectors prevent losses and strengthen operations.

In the long term, we expect the industry to evolve into fully connected security ecosystems, where integration with operations, logistics, maintenance, and even customer experience becomes fundamental. Security systems will not only protect but also generate strategic insights for business decisions, enabling companies to become more efficient, competitive, and resilient. Electronic security will thus be recognized as a strategic investment driving sustainable growth.
