- Nominations are now open for the SIA Board of Directors! SIA’s Nominations Committee welcomes new nominations between now and Jan. 16; learn more here.

- Nominations are now open for the 2026 SIA Women in Security Forum (WISF) Power 1001 This annual recognition program honors exceptional women in security who are raising the bar, changing expectations and breaking barriers. Nominations are due Jan. 31; learn more and get started here.
- SIA has launched the Data Center Advisory Board, a panel of experts including chair Jim Black that will provide guidance on data center security topics to the SIA Board of Directors and related resources to SIA members. Learn more here!

- New resources from SIA Government Relations! SIA has updated three advocacy resources for 2025: the Guide to U.S. Biometric Privacy Laws, which offers guidance on U.S. statewide laws that impose requirements on use of biometric data and technologies; the Right to Repair Laws Guide, which shares a review of laws applicable to electronic equipment and related to security products; and the Guide to State and Local Laws on Facial Recognition Technology, a reference guide to U.S. state and local laws on facial recognition technology and related legislative trends.
- SIA has named Amy Musanti, director of sustainable building solutions at ASSA ABLOY, as the new chair of the SIA Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Advisory Board. Musanti will lead the group’s efforts to advance information sharing about established ESG practices and critical marketplace issues.
- New video from SIA’s Audio and Intelligent Communications Subcommittee! In this video conversation, hosted by SIA Senior Manager of Standards and Technology Adom Yusuf, experts delve into conversational artificial intelligence and the security industry.
