New York Times Best-Selling Author Brad Thor to Speak at SIA Government Summit

Author will discuss parallels between his novels and real-world threats

ALEXANDRIA, Va. – New York Times best-selling author Brad Thor will be a keynote speaker at the Security Industry Association’s (SIA) Government Summit — the premier public policy conference in the security industry. The Summit will be held June 19-20 at the Embassy Suites Washington Convention Center Hotel in Washington DC.

Brad Thor is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Full Black, Foreign Influence (one of Suspense Magazine’s best political thrillers of 2010), The Apostle, The Last Patriot(nominated best thriller of the year by the International Thriller Writers Association), The First Commandment, Takedown,Blowback (recognized as one of the “Top 100 Killer Thrillers of All Time” by NPR), State of the Union, Path of the Assassin,The Lions of Lucerne, and his New York Times bestselling spin-off series The Athena Project.

Thor has served as a member of the Department of Homeland Security’s Analytic Red Cell Unit, and is a fellow of the Alexandrian Defense Group. He has spoken to law enforcement organizations on over-the-horizon/future threats and was a keynote speaker at the National Tactical Officers Association annual conference. The SIA Government Summit kicks off Monday, June 18 with a Congressional Reception from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the Rayburn Foyer of the Rayburn House Office Building. Opening remarks on the 19th will be followed by panel discussions on post 9-11 procurement; public safety from an end-user perspective; the future of access and ID management; securing the smart grid; a briefing on contracting and procurement within the defense and intelligence communities; and connecting with state and local government.
