Live Hacking at ISC West 2026: Cyber-Physical Security in Action

Volunteers Needed! Help Us Defend a Security System From a Team of Hackers!

Join us live at ISC West for a high-impact, hands-on experience featuring the Cal Poly Pomona Cyber Team as the Red Team in a live attack-and-defend environment. ISC West attendees of all skill levels are invited to step in as the blue team and defend a real-world physical security deployment under active attack.

In this fast-paced session presented by the Security Industry Association (SIA) Cybersecurity Advisory Board, participants will face realistic cyber and physical threat scenarios—from network and software exploits to hands-on badge, card and reader attacks using tools like Flipper and ESPKey. Engagements runs in 20- to 30-minute demo cycles throughout the event, making it easy to jump in and experience the action firsthand.

Both red and blue teams will follow guided playbooks with industry cybersecurity experts providing live coaching and real-time insights into what’s happening, why it matters and how to respond effectively. After each scenario, we’ll break down key defensive strategies, review system hardening guidance and highlight deployment best practices to strengthen resilience in the field.
