Chesapeake and Midlantic Marketing

Chesapeake and Midlantic Marketing (collectively MidChes), founded in 1995, is a technical manufacturers representative firm of approximately 15 associates in the security industry. MidChes provides free technical education, system demonstration, system design and specification assistance, solution budgeting and after-sale support to security end users and their supply chains.

The Security Industry Association (SIA) spoke with Matt Golueke, MidChes’ marketing director, to discuss the company, the security industry and working with SIA.

SIA: What solutions/services does your business offer in the security industry? And what makes your offerings or your company unique?

Matt Golueke: We represent a small handful of manufacturers in the security industry, including Bosch Security Systems and Comnet. Essentially, we are technical field sales representatives and experts in the security and communication solutions business.

We are geographically positioned to provide local services and support from Virginia to Pennsylvania. We work to provide rapid, multiple means of supporting and responding to our customers, serving partners in the Mid-Atlantic from two main offices in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, and Abingdon, Maryland. Team members are available to provide help at all phases of the project cycle, from system design to after-sale support.

Our primary services are technical education, system design, product demonstrations, proof of concept, project design, specification assistance, onsite installation support, after-sale support and customer service.

SIA: What’s something we might not know about your company – or something new you’re doing in security?

MG: We’re continually training and being trained about new perimeter intrusion detection technologies at our Chadds Ford training center. Additionally, we perform highly technical proof of concept demonstrations for high-performance security solutions. We also produce informative, educational videos about security technology. Unlike other manufacturer representative firms, we have inside sales support, customer service and professional services divisions.

We heavily leverage digital media and provide our partners with ongoing updates and thousands of hours of informative videos via Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube and our Security Answers blog with over 500 searchable articles.

SIA: What does SIA offer that is most important to you/your company? And what do you most hope to get out of your membership with SIA?

MG: Our SIA membership supports the industry and provides our team with insights about market conditions, trends and news.
