SIA Announces New Networking and Roundtable Series on Workforce Development
Concurrently with the SIAThere! series of complimentary networking events, the Security Industry Association (SIA) will hold a series of roundtable discussions to explore topics related to workforce development within the security industry. The roundtables will provide a forum for industry professionals to discuss and solve workforce development challenges. Highly interactive and panel driven, the complimentary roundtable series will bring together security professionals who want the knowledge and benefits of group discussions with fellow colleagues.
The goal of the roundtable series is to provide a supportive environment where members can get ideas and direction, collaborate, solve problems and improve their workforce development techniques within their organizations.
The first roundtable in the series will occur on Thursday, Sept. 20, in New York City concurrently with SIAThere! This roundtable discussion will examine recruiting talent in the security space and new hiring trends and include a discussion of how to gain access to training for employees, acquire experienced workers and access and attract millennials and college grads.
The second roundtable discussion is expected to take place in early December and will cover the topic of negotiations, including contract negotiations, work/life balance, negotiation tactics, how to counter negotiations and avoiding conflict in the aftermath of negotiation.
