Alan Ataev, CEO, AxxonSoft

Alan Ataev: Founded in 2003, AxxonSoft develops video management and physical security management software, providing sophisticated platforms for building intelligent video surveillance and unified security solutions. Recent years, we have been stepping up research and development in the field of cloud services and artificial intelligence (AI) video analytics. To date, our software empowers hundreds of thousands of systems aimed at ensuring enterprises’ security and public safety. In partnership with major communications service providers and integrators, AxxonSoft runs video surveillance-as-a-service (VSaaS) projects for business and government sectors.

What solutions/services does your business offer in the security industry? And what makes your offerings/company unique?

AA: We offer:

  • AI-powered video management software (VMS) for on-premises installations of any scope, coupled with a cloud-based system monitoring service
  • A unified PSIM that allows a great number of integrations and automation capabilities, suitable for setups of any scale and flexibly configurable for any target sector
  • A software VSaaS platform that enables telecoms carriers, integrators, etc., to deploy hosted and hybrid surveillance-as-a-service solutions based on their own or rented (cloud) computing infrastructure

What is something we might not know about your company – or something new you are doing in security?

AA: We have a full cycle for AI video analytics development at our command. We provide ready-made neural networks for common tasks such as human/vehicle detection, human posture recognition and fire/smoke detection under standard conditions. As well, we train AI for specific tasks and tricky surveillance conditions: unusual viewing angles, difficult lighting, detection of particular objects, thermal camera use, etc. To achieve the highest possible accuracy, we leverage the client’s system with neural networks trained using videos from their actual site and suited to their specific tasks. AI analytics is seamlessly integrated into our products so that you can use it in the way you use standard built-in VMS tools such as motion detection.

What is your company’s vision, and what are your goals for the security industry?

AA: Our vision is a versatile platform that can unify stand-alone security systems to provide customers with tailored solutions for their specific tasks.

What do you think are the biggest opportunities in the security industry right now?

AA: We consider AI, cloud and unification as the major security market drivers. More and more customers look for cloud solutions that are easy to implement, operate and scale, with minimum maintenance burden. AI levels up the system efficiency in common security tasks and helps solve out-of-standard problems. Seamless interconnection of standalone systems, such as video surveillance, access control and alarms, brings to life new usage scenarios that increase the system value for the user, while they are impossible with siloed systems.

What does SIA offer that is most important to you/your company? And what do you most hope to get out of your membership with SIA?

AA: SIA is one of the most well-known associations in the security industry that unites big players in the market. By joining SIA, we’d like to become more recognized in the security marketplace, especially in North America, since we’re already successfully operating in other parts of the world. We’re looking forward to the opportunities of learning and peer-to-peer networking, and we’re sure SIA will help us continue to grow.

How does your organization engage with SIA? What are your plans for involvement in the next year?

AA: AxxonSoft has been participating in ISC events since 2011, and we’re surely planning to continue doing that. In 2022 we’ll be taking part in ISC West, and we’re also looking forward to entering the SIA New Product Showcase.
