Tell us the story of your company.

Lindsay Martin-Nez: BadgePass got its start as a systems integrator selling ID-related solutions including desktop photo ID, access control and more. As we worked with end user customers across all vertical markets, we constantly heard requests for one, fully integrated system that printed credentials, but also enabled the facility to do more with those cards – like control access to doors, electronically manage visitors and more. Customers needed one system to manage all their badge-related needs, rather than having a variety of systems from multiple manufacturers and struggling to make those work together.

The idea for BadgePass, the software solution, was born out of that customer feedback. Our enterprise platform was designed to give customers fully integrated photo ID, door access and visitor management – all from the same system.

What solutions/services does your business offer in the security industry? And what makes your offerings or your company unique?

LMN: Unlike many access control solutions, we got our start in ID. So we understand the credentialing process and the need for secure and seamless badge issuance better than anyone. We’re able to bring that expertise to customers and help them better implement technology cards, and badge-related solutions, across their organizations.

What is something we might not know about your company – or something new you are doing in security?

LMN: Our newest platform, BadgePass ONE, is making waves in the industry as the first native app solution that allows users to print and manage ID badges as well as control access to doors – all from their phone or tablet. BadgePass ONE is available for download from the iOS or Windows store and allows customers of all sizes to enroll cardholders, capture photos and print badges from anywhere – no need for a server, a desktop computer or even a card printer driver!

One of the coolest things about BadgePass ONE is the flexible pricing model. Customers can add devices, including card printer(s) and/or access control reader device(s) by purchasing them upfront or purchasing as part of their monthly or annual subscription packages, which makes the upfront cost for deploying ID and access control more affordable than ever before and allows more customers access to the solutions they need to secure their facilities. Unlike traditional access control and/or photo ID solutions, BadgePass ONE has extremely minimal IT infrastructure requirements, making system implementation fast and easy.

What is your company’s vision, and what are your goals for the security industry?

LMN: BadgePass exists to break barriers in credential management. We’ve always seen ourselves as the “misfits” of the identification industry. What I mean by that is while other manufacturers are out there chasing the next “big” thing, we spend our time interacting with our customers and finding out what features and functionality they need to make their credential management process better. It’s that customer input that truly makes our products great.

We are passionate about doing the best for our customers, our dealer partners and our team members.  We create solutions that impact our customers’ lives daily, and we are incredibly grateful to be a part of an organization’s security.

What do you enjoy most about being at your company – and in the security industry?

LMN: The security industry is fantastic because its constantly evolving, which is great for BadgePass because we absolutely love change. If there’s one thing that’s true about us, if we believe in something, we find a way to get it done – no matter what. As we’ve grown throughout our company history, we work hard to maintain the flexibility that’s made us great along the way and will no doubt give us a competitive edge as we continue to grow moving forward.

What does SIA offer that is most important to you/your company? And what do you most hope to get out of your membership with SIA?

LMN: We are brand-new members, so we’re excited to learn more about the organization and the member companies. We’re always looking for new ways to grow and learn, and we look forward to engaging with other companies and security professionals as part of SIA.
