SIA New Member Profile: IDCUBE

IDCUBE team

New Security Industry Association (SIA) member IDCUBE is a leading provider of identity and access management solutions for enterprises and visitor management. The company operates worldwide, spanning regions from the United States to Southeast Asia, and has key development and sales centers in the U.S. (Piscataway, New Jersey, and Milpitas, California); the United Arab Emirates (Dubai); and India (Bengaluru, Delhi and Kolkata).

SIA spoke with Divyakant Gupta, founder and CEO of IDCUBE, about the company, the security industry and working with SIA.

Tell us the story of your company.

Divyakant Gupta: Blending the Internet of Things (IoT) with operational efficiency was my forte, as I used IoT-based sensors to automate data collection and analysis at large forestry sites in 2004 as part of my thesis at Michigan Tech University. As I embarked on my entrepreneurial journey to form IDCUBE in 2005, the physical access Control system (PACS) excited me, as it is part of an organization’s operations management, not just for security.

We book a flight, and we can check in online to get a boarding pass that can be easily added to the Wallet app, which gives us seamless access to the airport till we board the flight; that’s the perfect example of streamlined PACS, which is not just secure but efficient and delivers a remarkable user experience. We see many such remarkable blends of security and operational efficiency when we go to some of the theme parks, go to watch a movie, or board a metro rail.

The challenge is not just to deliver such security and efficiencies to enterprises, but also to democratize the technology to make it accessible and affordable for SMBs, hospitals, schools and multifamily complexes. To achieve this, three aspects of the access control system had to be automated:

  • User onboarding
  • Access rule management
  • Monitoring/analytics

All three aspects had to be built as an open technology to achieve secure, streamlined and sustainable access control.

IDCUBE has successfully combined the power of cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), mobile credentials and biometrics into legacy technologies to deliver end-to-end automation with a remarkable user experience in the cloud.

We proudly stand for SECURE MORE, DO MORE.

What solutions/services does your business offer in the security industry? And what makes your offerings or your company unique?

DG: IDCUBE’s Access360 stands as the world’s only truly open-platform, AI-powered PACS, designed to revolutionize security and operational efficiency. Available both on-premises and as a cloud-hosted SaaS solution, it empowers organizations with seamless, cutting-edge access management.

What sets Access360 apart?

  • Truly Open Platform: Consolidates all credential types – physical (smart cards, key fobs), virtual (NFC via Apple/Google Wallet, BLE, DyQR codes), and biological (fingerprint, facial, iris) – into a unified platform. Credential issuance from various device manufacturers can be done effortlessly based on user demographics. Next-gen virtual credentials and facial recognition enable online credential issuance and revocation.
  • AI-Powered Threat Detection: Unlike traditional systems that merely log data, Access360 uses AI to proactively detect hidden threats and vulnerabilities. Its intelligent engines analyze alarm logs, user behavior, and configuration settings, delivering actionable insights to management without relying on frequent audits or constant monitoring.

By combining innovation with simplicity, IDCUBE transforms access control into a secure, intelligent, and streamlined solution. Secure more. Do more.

What is something we might not know about your company – or something new you are doing in security?

DG: We’ve developed QRify, a new mobile credential powered by dynamic QR code technology. QR codes are popular for their ease of online distribution, often used in ticketing for one-time use cases. However, they’re easily copied or cloned. Traditional credentials are secure and permanent but require physical touchpoints for issuance and revocation. Other virtual credentials like NFC/BLE can be issued online but lack compatibility with all mobile devices.

QRify combines the best of both worlds. It’s secure because it’s encrypted and refreshes every few seconds, making it impossible to copy or clone. It serves as a permanent credential with a unique identity for access control readers while retaining the simplicity of online distribution and universal compatibility with all mobile devices.

QRify: secure, permanent and universally compatible.

What do you think are the biggest opportunities in the security industry right now?

DG: AI for PACS is the real game changer in physical security. While AI in security is often synonymous with video analytics, PACS is the true first line of defense for any facility. Insider threats and mismanaged access control systems pose the greatest risks to organizations, yet they’re often overlooked.

AI for PACS shifts the paradigm by delivering proactive and predictive insights, identifying vulnerabilities and irregularities before they become security breaches. This not only strengthens an organization’s security posture but also ensures better access management, minimizing human error and insider risks.

What are your predictions for the security industry in the short and long term?

DG: AI-powered analytics and generative AI will play a key role in advanced monitoring and organizational risk mitigation.

What are the biggest challenges facing your company and/or others in the security industry?

DG: The biggest challenge in the security industry right now is the high cost of installation and upgrades, which is too high compared to the actual product cost. This high cost of implementation inhibits the adoption of the latest innovations and technologies by end users.

What does SIA offer that is most important to you/your company? And what do you most hope to get out of your membership with SIA?

DG: SIA offers a platform for shared learning and exchange of ideas. We look forward to sharing our experience and expertise from our almost two decades of access control experience with fellow members and learning from others’ experiences. We look forward to networking opportunities as well.
