SIA spoke with Kasia Hanson, CEO and founder of KFactor Global, about the company, the security industry and working with SIA.
Tell us the story of your company.

Kasia Hanson: I founded KFactor Global after a long career at Intel Corporation, where I advanced physical and cybersecurity ecosystems, developed artificial intelligence (AI) strategies and solutions and developed partner revenue initiatives.
Recognizing AI’s growing influence, I established the company to help the industry develop effective technology strategies.
What solutions/services does your business offer in the security industry? And what makes your offerings or your company unique?
KH: KFactor Global helps security manufacturers, integrators and practitioners create strategies that merge advanced technology and AI with business goals. With over 20 years of experience, the firm focuses on:
- Modernizing physical and cybersecurity infrastructure and solutions
- Using AI-driven technologies for security enhancements and productivity/operational improvements
- Augmenting business value and risk management strategies
- Developing strategic business acceleration and ecosystem strategies to help security companies scale
The services provided include security technology strategy, AI solutions, ecosystem orchestration, risk management, go-to-market strategy, Internet of Things integration, use case/solution mapping and AI training. As a woman-owned business, KFactor Global promotes inclusion and diversity in the security industry.
What is something we might not know about your company – or something new you are doing in security?

KH: KFactor Global uniquely offers advanced technology guidance in both physical and cybersecurity and assists clients in launching new security solutions like agentic AI and AI-based analytics, while also advises partners on leveraging cryptographic asset protection.
I am also a global ambassador for the United States on the Global Council for Responsible AI, an international governing body focused on ensuring that artificial intelligence is developed and deployed in an ethical, secure and responsible manner. We are committed to advancing global AI standards, empowering organizations and fostering the responsible growth of AI technologies that benefit society. I have been recognized by Security Journal Americas as a top 30 security influencer and as a Top 40 Life Safety Alliance honoree.
What is your company’s vision, and what are your goals for the security industry?
KH: Our mission is to protect individuals, locations and assets, encompassing both digital and physical domains while reducing risk. Our goal is to bridge the gap between technology and business goals by merging security needs with strategic benefits. By understanding business objectives, we align technology investments, form partnerships and adopt new solutions that will help security organizations thrive.
What do you think are the biggest opportunities in the security industry right now?

KH: It’s an exciting time for the security industry and technology. I’m eager to see how AI, once widely accepted and used, will enhance the industry. Advancements like agentic AI and visual language models will accelerate progress, enabling integrators to develop new services. This year, agentic AI has the most promise to help with productivity and efficiency gains for operations, technicians, sales and channel enablement.
What are your predictions for the security industry in the short and long term?
KH: The outlook for security is promising – we are seeing more transformation than ever before. There are substantial opportunities to modernize security methodologies, develop strategic road maps for responsible advanced technology utilization and generate positive business impacts and outcomes that secure security’s position at decision-making tables. Security convergence will remain a vital component that the industry must adopt, especially with the increasing prevalence of deepfakes, making the protection of video data more crucial than ever. Industry stakeholders will play a pivotal role in elevating the significance of security.
What does SIA offer that is most important to you/your company? And what do you most hope to get out of your membership with SIA?
KH: Membership in SIA is crucial to our business because of the valuable community and ecosystem to which it provides access. We depend on the valuable content created by SIA, including the Security Megatrends report, vertical industry reports and events such as SIAThere! that bring the community together. Participating in SIA’s Women in Security Forum is important for us a woman-owned business and provides valuable community engagement, resources and events such as Security LeadHER.
