SIA Member Profile: Sekuri Julieta Leticia Pérez, CEO of Sekuri

New Security Industry Association (SIA) member Sekuri offers professional private security services: trained guards, digital patrols with advanced technology and industrial security for businesses and shops. The company is headquartered in Guanajuato, México.

SIA spoke with Julieta Leticia Pérez, CEO of Sekuri, about the company, the security industry and working with SIA.

Tell us the story of your company.

Julieta Pérez: I founded Sekuri in 2014 with the goal of offering professional, reliable private security services aligned with the needs of the industrial sector. The company began operations with its first industrial opening service, made up of six guards, laying from the start the foundations of a culture focused on operational discipline, prevention and client trust.

In 2015, Sekuri took a key step toward professionalizing the sector by training its first guards under the standards of the Public Security Training Institute of the State of Guanajuato (INFOSPE). That same year, the company entered the automotive industry, implementing security services with high levels of operational rigor and adaptation to specialized industrial processes.

Throughout its growth, Sekuri has continuously strengthened its standards. In 2018, anticipating international trade requirements, Sekuri trained its personnel under the CTPAT certification, contributing to supply chain security for exports to North America.

In 2021, the company reinforced its operational procedures and obtained its REPSE registration, consolidating regulatory compliance and positioning itself as a reliable provider of specialized security services.

In 2023, Sekuri began implementing its Quality Management System aligned with ISO 9001:2015 and obtained the Marca GTO distinction, reaffirming its commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and regional development.

In 2024, Sekuri reached a new milestone by obtaining CLAUGTO accreditation as an automotive supplier, supported by process standardization and the maturity of its Quality Management System.

By late 2025 and into 2026, Sekuri incorporated new services through Sekuritec, a specialized unit in technological security solutions, integrating and complementing its traditional services with technological tools that strengthen prevention, monitoring and operational efficiency.

Today, Sekuri has 30 active services and more than 200 guards operating throughout the Bajío region, consolidating itself as a comprehensive private security company that combines physical and technological security with a focus on operational excellence, personnel professionalization and the creation of solutions that deliver real value to the industry.

What solutions/services does your business offer in the security industry? And what makes your offerings/company unique?

JP: Sekuri offers comprehensive private security solutions that combine physical and technological security, mainly for the industrial and corporate sectors. Through on-site guard services, operational supervision and risk prevention, and via its technological unit Sekuritec, the company integrates solutions such as video surveillance systems, access control and security support technologies.

What sets Sekuri apart is its focus on service quality, process control and the strategic integration of human security and technology. This combination enables more efficient, measurable solutions aligned with each client’s operational needs.

What is something we might not know about your company—or something new you are doing in security?

JP: In addition to continuously strengthening its asset protection services, Sekuri has developed Sekuritec, a specialized unit in technological solutions that complement its private security operations. Through this integration, the company offers hybrid schemes that combine trained personnel, standardized processes and technology, also incorporating cybersecurity solutions aimed at protecting information, managing digital access and preventing technological risks that impact organizations’ physical operations. This allows for improved prevention, monitoring and decision making in a comprehensive way.

What is your company’s vision, and what are your objectives for the security industry?

JP: Sekuri’s vision is to establish itself as a leading private security company nationwide, recognized for its reliability, ethics and operational quality, building on solid and sustained growth in the Bajío region, particularly in the state of Guanajuato, which today represents its main area of development. Its objective is to raise industry standards through professional services, well-defined processes and an organizational culture focused on prevention, continuous improvement and generating value for the industrial sectors where it operates.

What do you consider the greatest opportunities in the security industry today?

JP: One of the greatest opportunities in the security industry is the effective integration of physical security and technology. Through initiatives like Sekuritec, Sekuri identifies significant growth in solutions that allow industrial companies to strengthen risk management with technological systems that complement field operations. In parallel, there is a key opportunity in strengthening and professionalizing security personnel through continuous training, process standardization and skills development that maximize the value of technology and raise service quality.

What are your short- and long-term predictions for the security industry?

JP: In the short term, the industry will demand more structured security services supported by technology. In the long term, evolution will be driven by the integration of technological solutions, automation and data analysis, where hybrid models such as those developed by Sekuri and Sekuritec will play a key role.

What are the greatest challenges your company and/or the security industry face?

JP: One of the main challenges in the industry is attracting and retaining talent, as well as changing the perception of security as a low-value service. For Sekuri, the challenge is to maintain high quality standards, invest in personnel development and optimize operations without losing efficiency or client trust.

What do you most enjoy about working at your company and in the security industry?

JP: What we value most about being part of Sekuri and the security industry is the direct impact our work has on protecting people, facilities and operations. Security requires responsibility, discipline and commitment, and it is rewarding to contribute to creating safer, more organized environments.

What does SIA offer that is most important to you/your company? And what do you most hope to get out of your membership with SIA?

JP: SIA provides access to knowledge, best practices and global security trends, particularly in the field of technology applied to security. For Sekuri and Sekuritec, membership represents an opportunity to strengthen their comprehensive approach, stay at the forefront of technology and align with international standards.

How does your organization engage with SIA? What are your plans for involvement in the next year?

JP: Sekuri and Sekuritec plan to actively participate in SIA through attendance at events, access to specialized resources and ongoing updates in technological and operational solutions. Next year, the focus will be on strengthening training, adopting new technologies and continuously improving comprehensive security services.
