Denis R. Hebert Identity Management Scholarship Application

The application below is the first step in applying for the Denis R. Hebert Identity Management Scholarship offered by the Security Industry Association (SIA) in partnership with the Center for Identity at the University of Texas at Austin. Please read and complete each section fully and accurately.

As part of the application process, you must submit the following information:

Applicant contact information
Your resume/work history
An essay related to your professional development and career goals
Contact information for two professional references

Applications will be reviewed by, and scholarships awarded by the Scholarship Selection Committee (the “Committee”). The Committee does not discriminate on any basis including race, sex, age, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, disability, veteran status or any other category protected by federal, state or local law.

Upon submitting your application, it will be sent to our Scholarship Committee, and you will receive an email confirmation of your application. If you have questions, please contact SIA Director of Education Dr. Elli Voorhees at evoorhees@securityindustry.org.

In the event that the applicant is selected by the Scholarship Selection Committee to receive a scholarship, the applicant will be notified by the Committee that s/he will be a recipient of a scholarship (the “Recipient”). Once the Recipient is ready to use the scholarship, the Recipient must submit documentation of course registration and all applicable fees. Once received, SIA will review and submit payment for the course directly to the provider or, in some cases, may reimburse individuals for invoices.

I understand that SIA will use reasonable efforts to keep the information in its possession confidential. I understand that SIA reserves the right to verify any or all of the information associated with this application, and that providing false, misleading, inaccurate, or incomplete information or otherwise violating the rules governing the Denis R. Hebert Scholarship Program (the “Program”) may constitute grounds for the rejection of this application or other appropriate disciplinary action.
