New AG-01 Architectural Graphics Standard Is Coming

The Security Industry Association (SIA) established the Architectural Graphics Standard and CAD Symbols for Security Layout, or AG-01, first released to the public more than two decades ago. Today, it’s a joint effort supported by the International Association of Professional Security Consultants (IAPSC), and SIA and IAPSC are working on an update for release in the coming weeks.

AG-01 is a collection of security focused architectural graphics intended for use by architects, building contractors, systems integrators, electrical contractors and security managers who use CAD to produce construction drawings, shop drawings, and installation/as-built drawings and security systems layouts for a host of vertical markets in designs for retail, school systems, hospitals, commercial buildings and more.

AG-01 v 3.1 will be available for purchase in October. The next release will include enhanced security images along with editable attributes allowing security and construction teams along with architecture and engineering firms the flexibility to create security systems layouts for a diverse portfolio of clients. Version 3.1 will be compatible with Visio, Auto CAD, PDF and DWG layers.

The Architectural Graphics and CAD Symbols for Security Layout Standard will be available at a deeply discounted rate of $50 for current members and $275 for nonmembers.

Highlights of the new standard:

  • Editable attributes enhance usability to support proper spacing on plans
