1. What first got you interested in security and safety as a career choice?

Having received a B.A. in Criminal Justice studies from Roger Williams University, my natural path into law enforcement was averted when I was made aware of a role in a growing IP camera manufacturer, Axis Communications. Having the ability to bring new and exciting technologies to market is a great reward, especially when they are purposeful and can extend security measures of an organization.

2. What has your career path been?

I have predominantly been involved on the manufacturing side of the industry in a business development and sales capacity. I’ve been involved with major IP camera manufacturers, a very unique analytic firm and most recently the leader in indoor gunshot detection.

3. Who has influenced you or mentored you—either within the security field or outside?

Early in my career I was extremely fortunate to have a manager who constantly taught his team to lead and be the tip of the spear in anything they do. Giving us the tools and, more importantly, support to accomplish any task we set forth was something I won’t soon forget.

4. What do you think you need to enhance your career?

Continued education… never stop learning!

5. Any advice to young professionals just starting out in the industry?
