SIA Guide to Navigating Federal Contracting Rules

What it is: The SIA Guide to Navigating Federal Contracting Rules offers an extensive guide on federal contracting for security manufacturers and integrators, with a special emphasis on domestic content requirements.

The guide provides a summary of the key issues to consider for companies contemplating contracting with the U.S. government, or as a subcontractor to a prime contractor where the project receives federal funds. This reference tool is intended to be a starting point for addressing common questions about the process, highlighting key topics and considerations, and providing links to additional resources.

SIA Security Policy Brief

What it is: A brand new tool on our website, the SIA Security Policy Brief allows SIA Members to review pressing legislative issues on a federal or state-by-state basis, or by specific issue areas.

SIA Export Assistance Guide

What it is: The SIA Export Assistance Guide was created to assist SIA member companies exploring export opportunities or expanding their participation in trade. This guide provides a listing and helpful information concerning available export assistance programs offered by the federal government, as well as a global directory of industry associations that could aid in navigating the security market in a specific country or region.

SIA Federal Grants Guide

What it is: The SIA Federal Grants Guide offers a list of key federal grant programs and related resources as a tool for members and their customers. The guide, which is release in the spring of each year, provides information on key federal funding programs that shape the way our industry markets security solutions.

SIA Policy Priorities

What it is: SIA is actively tracking a wide range of issues for our members. Pressing topics to include border security, IoT regulations, regulatory relief related to power requirements of life-safety and security systems, and the ongoing issue of funding for airport security, school security, and body-worn camera systems.

How to access it: SIA maintains web pages on our policy priorities and we also publish a printed edition each year in advance of SIA GovSummit, our government security conference.

Fiscal Year Informer

What it is: The Fiscal Year Informer (FYI) includes exclusive articles by experts from Washington, D.C.-based government relations firms and SIA staff on security-related grants, homeland security, the potential impact of the sequestration “fiscal cliff,” and some of the legal issues involved in selling security products abroad.

How to access it: SIA’s Fiscal Year Informer is published every six months for SIA by the trade journal Security Systems News. To receive FYI, subscribe to Security Systems News.
