SIA New Member Profile: Sitasys

Security Industry Association (SIA) member Sitasys, a Swiss company located in Solothurn, provides an innovative alarm management platform, best in class finger-print identification and secure train communication.

SIA spoke with Peter Monte, founder and CEO of Sitasys, about the company’s history and offerings, the security industry and working with SIA.

Tell us the story of your company.

Peter Monte: I founded evalink in the summer of 2015. Back then, my idea was to combine 30 years of experience in the security industry with innovation to help installers configure and commission alarm panels more straightforwardly.

From the very beginning, we were determined to automate processes in the security industry. We envisioned democratizing access to alarm management and giving users the keys to managing their security operations and applications from a centralized platform.

Convinced that digital interaction between parties improves loyalty and the quality of work, we saw the need to develop a flexible and modular system that would enable two-way communication between alarms and people in real-time from anywhere. At the same time, it would be able to handle large amounts of data in a scalable manner. This was when we started our true cloud alarm management ecosystem evalink – at a time when everybody wanted on-premises solutions only.

Building on that early success in the security industry and many talks with our customers, we innovated from an alarm transmission dispatcher to an alarm management ecosystem that empowers organizations like enterprises, installers, and control centers.

This year, Sitasys celebrated its 10-year anniversary. It has been an extremely exciting journey for us so far. And we can’t wait for what’s next.

Where is your business located and what’s your geographic footprint?

PM: With our headquarters in Langendorf, Solothurn (Switzerland), we operate across Europe. Lately, we have been entering Asia, the U.S., and South America as well.

What solutions/services does your business offer in the security industry? And what makes your offerings/company unique?

PM: Our evalink ecosystem covers the whole chain of security professionals’ needs. What we want for our customers is easy alarm management for everyone, from everywhere: That’s why we provide a fully managed, automated, and integrated ecosystem. It’s the best way to support various security teams to deliver outstanding security services.

Following our values innovationtrust, and simplicity in all we do, we run the world’s first and only end-to-end certified alarm management platform for easier alarm handling. We innovate the industry with the evalink virtual alarm receiving and dispatching infrastructure and IoT connecting devices. As the highest-certified cloud-based alarm management ecosystem, we only work with trusted technologies. To deliver better, trustworthy, and simpler solutions, evalink connects powerful yet easy-to-use technology with people. That way, we offer the security industry a complete solution that simplifies the lives of installers, service operation centers (SOCs), guardians, and B2B customers.

evalink comes with its own marketplace that offers integrations to connect existing security systems with automation technology. As we know about the importance of fit-for-future solutions, we are engaged with many partners to seamlessly integrate platforms that broaden security services in a highly automated way. Based on the evalink open architecture, businesses enjoy high flexibility and can quickly scale according to their workload and needs.

We’re constantly refining our ecosystem to be better and offer future-proof services. One of our big new projects launching next year is the evalink mobile app that will take communication between alarm receiving centers (ARCs) and customers to a new level. It will feature many valuable functionalities such as remote alarm management, integrated intervention services, arming/disarming security systems, and more convenient ways of interacting with customers.

What’s something we might not know about your company – or something new you’re doing in security?

PM: Our drive to disrupt the security industry as we know it gets us up in the mornings: We’re on a mission to democratize security by connecting technology with people to better protect lives and valuables.

As evalink automatically orchestrates security solutions, we change the way alarming is done and truly impact the way security teams work. Our team spirit, driven by the hunger for technology innovation, digital transformation, and forward-thinking, allows us to build processes differently.

What is your company’s vision, and what are your goals for the security industry?

PM: Security automated with passion. That’s our mission statement. Everything we do is focused on saving time for everyone in the security value chain and making processes simpler and more efficient. We are enabling user-grade convenience for the security industry to bring confidence and ease into the lives of the people we work with. We strive to lead the necessary innovation in the security industry. To democratize security technology, we offer modular and automated services that are easy to use and integrate into existing processes. This enables our partners to provide their customers with world-class security services.

What do you think are the biggest opportunities in the security industry right now?

PM: The industry is currently reshaping itself. Integrated systems break down data silos, AI empowers security professionals to take their service delivery to a new level, and we have better technology available than ever. Customers are looking for even more trusted partners that can provide expert advice, excellent customer support, and help them future-proof their security services. To best meet their needs and accelerate the digitalization of alarm management, I believe in the power of cloud-based technology within SaaS models.

What does SIA offer that is most important to you and your company? And what do you most hope to get out of membership?

PM: We are grateful for the opportunity to be a member of SIA and, thereby, part of an extensive network of professionals that lead the change in the security industry. Being connected to established and new companies in our industry, building relationships, sharing knowledge from key players on how to do better tomorrow, and being known beyond borders of any kind are very important for Sitasys.

How does your organization engage with SIA? What are your plans for involvement in the next year (e.g., events, accessing member resources)?

PM: Our active participation in developing SIA standards that are being used internationally by manufacturers is a key element of our network growth. We like to animate and actively communicate our vision through virtual or physical events.
