Rachel Wilson: MxV Security Solutions is a technical security consulting company that also offers technical training and support for the physical security industry. We provide solution design, based around technology, for a specific project or need.

Chris Wilson founded MxV Security Solutions in 2018, with over 23 years’ experience in the North American security market, covering the full range of projects from small and medium-sized businesses to enterprise. His experience includes solutions engineering, project managemen and consulting with various end users, dealers and manufacturers on the industry. MxV was founded when I relocated from the Baltimore/D.C. market to South Carolina, and there were various customers that requested to continue to work with him. Since relocating, the customer portfolio has grown significantly both in the U.S. and abroad.

Chris believes it’s about not just staying on the leading edge of technology, but also building relationships. He applies his collective expertise to create and implement innovative solutions to solve the most complex problems. MxV partners with clients to design systems that allow them to focus on the business at hand and not the systems that make it run. Solutions designed by the team at MxV Security Solutions are using the latest technologies covering a broad technical base while not losing focus on the details.

Chris is an active Certified Security Project Manager (CSPM) and industry expert for system design, project management and best practices/techniques.

What solutions/services does your business offer in the security industry? And what makes your offerings or your company unique?

  • Solution Design: We work with our clients to help design and implement physical security projects. We remain partnered with our clients throughout the installation, ensuring that we are available as a trusted advisor for those unexpected questions that might arise and create a challenge.
  • Online Training: Momentum Security Training, a division of MxV Security Solutions, is a flexible and modular system for physical security training. We offer courses online because we know how busy you are. Our training features high-quality videos available from anywhere and at any time!

What is something we might not know about your company – or something new you are doing in security?

RW: This year we hosted what we hope to be an annual event at ISC West called Wine & Security. It’s an intimate wine education and networking event.

We are also starting a YouTube channel! It’s important to MxV Security Solutions to be a resource in the industry. We hope that by providing high-value educational content for free on our YouTube channel that we will encourage more people to consider security as a career and build an educated community.

What is your company’s vision, and what are your goals for the security industry?

RW: MxV is founded on the vision of delivering high-quality solutions to the industry as well as working to train and educate the next generation of security professionals. It’s important to the team at MxV to deliver solutions that solve problems across a wide range of customers but delivering in a way to truly add value to those customers.

What do you think are the biggest opportunities in the security industry right now?

RW: We believe there are various shifts currently taking place in the security industry, things such as more informed buyers, technology advancements and shifts, as well as a more diverse workforce, but we believe one of the largest opportunities for the security industry will hinge around how buildings are going to be used in ways that we’ve not come across before. The stakeholders that we will interact with are different, and the value proposition that has worked for us historically is not what matters today.  Being able to adjust to this shift is paramount and one of the biggest opportunities facing our industry today. Fortunately, some of the other shifts that are happening simultaneously will allow us to be positioned to meet this need – we just have to be ready and adjust the way we operate.

What does SIA offer that is most important to you/your company? And what do you most hope to get out of your membership with SIA?

RW: A membership with SIA works hand in hand with our motto to “Be a Resource.” Our founder, Chris, is on the Proptech Advisory Board as co-chair of the educational committee. He also is a Security Project Management (SPM) training instructor, teaching content helping people to be security project managers and prepare for the CSPM certification through SIA. The association is the best resource in our industry, and we’re proud to be members!
