SIA spoke with João P. Roth, global business development at Promont, about the company, the security industry and working with SIA.

Tell us the story of your company.
João P. Roth: Promont was founded 20 years ago in southern Brazil, in Canoas/RS, with the purpose of developing technological solutions focused on property and industrial security. Our origins lie in automation and access control for critical infrastructure environments. Over the years, we have evolved to meet the demands for smarter, more connected and robust devices, capable of protecting highly vulnerable areas and high-value assets. This is how we have established ourselves in Brazil as a reference in electronic security solutions with a strong emphasis on connectivity, Internet of Things (IoT), access control and alarm systems.

What solutions/services does your business offer in the security industry? And what makes your offerings or your company unique?
JPR: Promont offers complete access control and IoT alarm solutions, integrating a robust ecosystem that combines remote monitoring software, an application with encrypted virtual keys (AES 256 bits) and physical devices such as Bluetooth locks and padlocks, trackers with collaborative networks, IoT modules and motion sensors. Our differential lies in the integration of high-resistance hardware and an intelligent platform with advanced analytics resources, enabling real-time monitoring, security alerts, remote control and total autonomy for the customer. We continually invest in adaptable design, long battery life and advanced encryption – always prioritizing the user experience and efficient management of critical assets.

What is something we might not know about your company – or something new you are doing in security?
JPR: We recently launched Unilock Tracker, our smart tracker with a collaborative network, which allows real-time monitoring of equipment, cargo and high-value objects – even in remote regions. The device combines precise geolocation with personalized alerts integrated into our management platform. In addition, we are expanding our operations with the development of new products aimed at different segments. One example is the Smart Bag, a solution aimed at the school environment: a case for cell phones that blocks the use of the device during class time, with electronic lock and RFI protection.
We continue to advance with new solutions that will soon further expand our portfolio in connected security.

What is your company’s vision, and what are your goals for the security industry?
JPR: Our vision is to be a global reference in smart security solutions. We seek to contribute to a more efficient and integrated sector, where physical protection is driven by data and remote decision making. Our focus is on developing solutions that generate autonomy, traceability and security for our customers.

What does SIA offer that is most important to you/your company? And what do you most hope to get out of your membership with SIA?
JPR: SIA provides an essential bridge between companies, industry standards and global security trends. We believe that sharing knowledge and participating in collaborative initiatives are essential to the continued evolution of our company. Through membership, we hope to expand our international presence, strengthen partnerships and actively contribute to innovations that move the industry forward.

How does your organization engage with SIA? What are your plans for involvement in the next year?
JPR: Promont intends to expand its participation in SIA events, both as a visitor and exhibitor, and take advantage of the educational and networking resources offered. We are looking forward to opportunities for collaboration in technical groups and are looking forward to sharing experiences and field results to foster discussions on connected security and critical infrastructure.
