Tell us the story of your company.
Erik Mikkelsen: Stealth Monitoring is a consolidation of four commercial remote video monitoring businesses across the United States and Canada. The first business, UCIT Online Security, was founded in 2002 by Sidney Sommer in Mississauga, Canada, and focused on replacing or supplementing security guards on construction sites with remote video monitoring. In 2006, Norm Charney founded Stealth Monitoring in Dallas, Texas, focusing on remote video monitoring for businesses and apartment buildings across the United States. Stealth was acquired by UCIT in 2016, and the combined company adopted the Stealth name. In 2021, Stealth acquired Eyewitness Surveillance, based in Hanover, Maryland, and focused on monitoring auto dealers and recycling facilities. In 2023, Stealth acquired Caliber Communications, based in Stoney Creek, Canada and focused on monitoring critical infrastructure assets, commercial real estate and construction sites. Presently, Stealth has 2,000+ employees and serves thousands of clients across North America.

EM: Stealth specializes in designing, installing, servicing and monitoring commercial and industrial video solutions for clients throughout North America. The company’s main focus is on remote video monitoring, aided by proprietary technology that enables effective and efficient monitoring of various site types, including high- and low-motion areas. Additionally, we offer remote gate entry management and remote concierge solutions.
What’s something we might not know about your company – or something new you’re doing in security?

What does SIA offer that is most important to you/your company? And what do you most hope to get out of your membership with SIA?
EM: The most important benefit that SIA offers us is its network and community. It’s important for us to be able to connect with industry professionals and share best practices. We are excited about participating in more events and hopefully making a meaningful contribution to the community.
How does your organization engage with SIA? What are you rplans for involvement in the next year?
EM: We actively engage with SIA through regular participation in monthly initiative meetings. Stealth’s Anna MacPherson plays a crucial role in this collaboration, offering her insights and contributions alongside other SIA Utilities Advisory Board members to further our shared goals. Specifically, Anna has volunteered to facilitate the Protecting Utilities Lunch at ISC West, which highlights our commitment as the main sponsor of this important industry gathering. Looking ahead to the next year, our plans include continued involvement in these types of meetings.
