Security Industry Association Names Andrew Campagnola as Chair of SIA Built Environment Advisory Board
Andrew Campagnola of Kastle will lead the advisory board’s efforts to foster engagement between the global security industry and adjacent markets such as proptech and smart buildings.
SILVER SPRING, Md.—The Security Industry Association (SIA) has named Andrew Campagnola as the new chair of SIA’s Built Environment Advisory Board—an expert-led group that fosters engagement between the global security industry and adjacent markets such as proptech and smart buildings through partnerships, education and thought leadership.
Andrew Campagnola serves as director of product management at Kastle, where he leads product strategy for managed security solutions focused on commercial real estate and multifamily environments. He has spent his career working across every side of the security industry—as an end user, integrator, consultant and manufacturer—with roles spanning sales, engineering, operations and product management. Campagnola is a member of the SIA RISE community and holds an MBA from Syracuse University and a B.S. in security systems from the State University of New York at Farmingdale.
“Under Lee Odess, the SIA Built Environment Advisory Board established our industry’s voice in the built environment. Under Dan Cremins, it expanded its scope. I’m excited to take on this role and work with the board to take it even further,” said Campagnola. “Security technology is already in these buildings, driving real business outcomes well beyond the security department, and building owners and operators are increasingly recognizing this opportunity. As chair, I want to scale the board’s reach into the trade associations that serve the commercial real estate, multifamily and smart building markets, so SIA’s member companies have a voice where those decisions are being made—and so what we learn in those forums comes back to sharpen our standards, guidance and solutions.”
SIA’s Built Environment Advisory Board focuses on how the integration of physical security systems with all technology used in building spaces can create more comprehensive smart building solutions. The group’s efforts and activities have included publishing the SIA Proptech Report, which evaluates proptech trends, market size, and buying interests affiliated with security solutions in commercial real estate, including office environments and multifamily housing; authoring expert blogs and articles on key topics in built environment security; and co-hosting the ESG Week Virtual Symposium with SIA’s Environmental, Social and Governance Advisory Board.
“SIA is thrilled to welcome Andrew Campagnola as the new chair of the Built Environment Advisory Board. Andrew has a wide range of security industry experience that has given him a strong, practical understanding of how security solutions are built, deployed and used every day,” said SIA CEO Don Erickson. “We thank Andrew for lending his time and expertise to the advisory board as chair and look forward to collaborating with him to build on this effort to grow engagement between the global security industry, proptech and smart buildings through partnerships, thought leadership and learning.”
