WISF Giveback 1

SIA WISF “Essentials 4 Job Security” Giveback

Join the Women in Security Forum in Supporting Dress for Success Southern Nevada (DFSSN) at ISC West

The SIA Women in Security Forum (WISF) is calling upon our friends throughout the Security Industry and beyond to help women achieve financial independence. By supporting Essentials 4 Job Security Giveback, you can personally make a difference in helping the women of southern Nevada build careers and become self-sufficient.

The Situation

Nevada’s female labor force was hit hard by the pandemic, especially women without a high school diploma. Gradual improvements are being made, yet women in Nevada’s service-centric, entertainment sector are still reeling from pandemic-related woes and are most at risk for heightened income loss and even poverty.

How We Can Help

Our partnership with Dress for Success Southern Nevada (DFSSNV) will help women who are trying to get back into the workforce. Through acts of kindness and donations, WISF can help women feel more confident and self-assured as they take steps to improve their lives.

  • 100% of the women DFSSNV serves are low-moderate income with over 50% living below the poverty line
  • Nevada currently has the highest rate of female unemployment of all 50 states
  • Only 1.6% of all charitable giving goes to women and girl causes. Out of that, only 0.03 goes toward gender equality and employment
  • With a loss of $800 billion in global revenue from women leaving the workforce as a result of the pandemic, it’s a critical time to support women and help usher in socioeconomic change
