SECURITY TECHNOLOGY INDUSTRY’S MARKET CONFIDENCE Research REPORT FINDS A STEADY, STRONG INDUSTRY OUTLOOK

Provided to Security Industry Association (SIA) members as a review of current market conditions, the August/September 2021 Security Market Index (SMI) research shows that the security industry’s outlook is holding steady with strong confidence and a SMI of 64. An index above 50 indicates that conditions within the industry are largely positive and that security industry professionals are predominantly confident in their business outlooks. The SMI was 67 in June/July, 34 in April/May and 44 in February/March.

 

In the August/September research survey, 86% of industry respondents rated current business conditions as “good” or “excellent,” 42% of security professionals reported increases in marketing spending and 72% said they believe business conditions will be “much” or “a little” better within the next three months.
