Antoinette King: After being in the security industry for more than 21 years – including 17 working for three different integration companies in roles that included field technician, operations manager, sales/technical support and sales account manager and the last four years working as a regional sales manager and then key account manager for Axis Communications – I decided it was time to use my experience to help organizations build their business with a strong foundation in security.

During my tenure with Axis Communications, I was inspired to go back to school and complete my master’s degree in cybersecurity policy and risk assessment. I recognized that there was a major gap in knowledge and understanding of cybersecurity in the physical security industry, and it was my mission to influence others and educate them on the importance of implementing strong cybersecurity practices and maintaining a robust data privacy protection program.

I started my firm to be a resource for organizations that desire to understand cybersecurity and data privacy regulations and compliance, build out strong business practices that are rooted in a culture of security and educate them on the importance of having insight into the security posture of their supply chain.

What solutions/services does your business offer in the security industry? And what makes your offerings/company unique?

AK: Our services include three key areas:

  • Cybersecurity and data privacy: Cybersecurity training, cyber and data privacy program building, virtual chief information security officer, cyber and data privacy compliance, risk management and more
  • Corporate speaking engagements: Microtalks, keynote presentations, panel discussions and webinars
  • K-12 cyber awareness: Age-/grade-appropriate cyber hygiene training for students, “Digital Learning Days,” faculty training and parent seminars

What is something we might not know about your company – or something new you are doing in security?

AK: Credo Cyber Consulting LLC is transforming how business look at security. Rather than holding the traditional role of roadblock, we help organizations recognize that security and data privacy are the guardrails by which all business operations are performed. With a focus on business enablement, our philosophy is to foster a culture of security by empowering your people to be your front line of defense.

What is your company’s vision, and what are your goals for the security industry?

AK: Our goal for the security industry is to create awareness of the ways in which cybersecurity, physical security and information security are all connected, requiring a holistic approach to security with collaboration from all three entities within an organization.

What are your short- and long-term predictions for the security industry?

AK: Managed services will become the new face of the security industry as we know it. Creating an ecosystem around the end customer by providing them a holistic security solution that looks not only at the initial implementation, but the entire business life cycle will be what the end customers are looking for. I believe this to be the biggest disruptor of the industry. This push for managed services will increase the desire for more cloud-based security solutions.
