Security Industry Association Names Dan Cremins as 2026 SIA Standards Service Award Recipient
Dan Cremins will be honored for his outstanding leadership of SIA’s Built Environment Advisory Board at The Advance, SIA’s annual membership meeting.
SILVER SPRING, Md.—The Security Industry Association (SIA) has named Dan Cremins as the 2026 recipient of the SIA Standards Service Award. SIA will present Cremins with the award at The Advance, SIA’s annual membership meeting, which will be held March 24 during ISC West.
The SIA Standards Service Award is presented to individuals who have demonstrated continued excellence and tireless service in volunteer efforts related to the leadership, development, education and advocacy of SIA’s standards programs and services.
Dan Cremins, senior sales and market development manager at Delta Electronics, has more than 25 years of experience developing customer driven technology solutions. He started at Tyco, designing large scale video systems for casinos, airports and highway traffic systems, and later joined March Networks, leading the product management team focused on multisite enterprise applications in retail, banking and transportation. Cremins joined March Networks’ parent company, Delta Electronics, in 2023 as part of a new Delta Intelligent Building Technologies team focused on smart and healthy building solutions. Since 2023, he has served as chair for the SIA Built Environment Advisory Board, which fosters engagement between the global security industry and adjacent markets such as proptech and smart buildings through partnerships, education and thought leadership. Cremins has authored multiple industry articles and spoken at various events, including ISC East and West, GSX, FSPA, AHR, ABC Keystone, Lifespan and Realcomm.
The Built Environment Advisory Board, formerly known as the SIA Proptech Advisory Board, underwent a strategic reorganization that ushered in new leadership under the chairmanship of Cremins. Alongside fellow board members, Cremins has represented the advisory board at educational sessions at ISC East and ISC West that explored how access control and video can be used beyond security in the built environment and highlighted the evolving role of physical security technologies. Cremins has also participated in webinars contributing to broad and impactful conversations around physical security and innovation. Additionally, he served as a speaker at SIA’s Return on Security Breakfast panels at both ISC East and ISC West, helping to demonstrate how security investments drive broader organizational value.
“As chair of the SIA Built Environment Advisory Board, it has been an honor for me to be part of such an important initiative for SIA to spread the word, bridging proptech and smart building markets, about the value that physical security offers,” said Cremins. “I would like to thank SIA CEO Don Erickson for allowing me to lead the Built Environment Advisory Board, as well as Adom Yusuf for her tireless efforts in all that the board accomplished. I would also like to thank all the members of the Built Environment Advisory Board for their contributions in what we have accomplished together. I look forward to seeing what the next few years will bring as market solutions converge together for common customer applications.”
In addition to his work with the Built Environment Advisory Board, Cremins produced a white paper for the SIA RISE community focused on how physical security solutions add value to smart building applications, further advancing thought leadership at the intersection of security and the built environment. Under Cremins’ leadership, the Built Environment Advisory Board partnered with SIA’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Advisory Board to co-present the first-ever ESG Week in fall 2025, an event during which he was also an expert presenter and speaker. Cremins has represented the advisory board at other industry events, including the ABC Construction Technology Conference, highlighting the intersection of construction safety and physical security, the importance of physical security and how emerging security technologies can enhance overall safety outcomes.
“SIA is proud to present Dan Cremins with the 2026 Standards Service Award, in recognition of the significant time and effort he has dedicated to elevating awareness of the built environment and fostering meaningful discussion among our members and the broader industry,” said SIA CEO Don Erickson. “Through his guidance, industry engagement and sustained commitment, Dan has made a lasting impact on the Built Environment Advisory Board and continues to advance its mission across the security and built environment communities. We thank him for his leadership and look forward to recognizing him at The Advance.”
